  1. Unfortunately no logs of timing with the Motec dash, we're having an issue with the dash not seeing it. I'm getting everything else off CAN that I want, just not timing. Yeah, it only showed it's head at Racewars, doesn't show up on the dyno or on the racetrack. So, I'll just keep an eye on it. We're heading to Barbagallo tonight, but with this rain I doubt I'll get any useful data.
  2. This is the actual data log of the run at Racewars when the turbo failed. It shows the car going 1st, 2nd, 3rd (boost spike), 4th (turbine explodes!) The purple line is boost using an aftermarket 3 bar map sensor.
  3. Yeah, had 2 separate issues causing over boost. The first one was boost spike on gear changes in 3rd & 4th. We believe from the blow off valve being small. Boost was spiking 5+ psi. The second was a restriction from the intercooler at high rpm. We were still using a PW stepped cooler at this stage, had a 6 psi difference from hot to cold side of the intercooler. The result was a spike to 30+ psi when there should have been 21psi.
  4. Yeah, it's basically a hybrid of the 9180 & 8374. Still has the 1.05 rear housing, just machined to suit the 74mm wheel. When it broke, we sent the data logging off to Turbotech who gave it to Borg Warner USA. We didn't have a speed sensor them. They said the turbine was doing around 150,000rpm when it broke off. So they sent this turbo back for us to try and a speed sensor. We had a pretty bad year at Racewars this year, the xr6 broke Saturday arvo on the 800m and the fg gt broke the diff bolts Sunday morning on the 800m. We did a lot better the year before when we still had the low mount GTX3582 on, ended up being the 2nd fastest xr6 ford on the 1000m.

This had an EFR9180 at first, but over revved the turbo and the turbine came off at Racewars, So now we have this EFR9174 which is good for 145,000rpm and a speed sensor fitted wired into the Motec dash.. EFR9180 is good for around 115,000RPM. This turbo is current getting around 105,000rpm at the current power level.
  6. Yeah, 4th gear on low boost (16psi) stopped the dyno. Ended up running in 5th with fast ramp rate. Didn't hit the speed limit, turbo was maxxing early so stopping run at 6400rpm, I think road speed was about 275kmh.
