  6. hi my turbo bf has 225/35 ZR20 wan-li tyres, which are ready for replacement (a lot sooner than anticipated..) can someone who knows tyres please tell me if it's likely I would have any other width\profile options, as the rolling circumference of the existing tyres is 1cm bigger than a standard falcon wheel, so I'd like to get 30 profile if it's possible, to get them to standard size (rolling circ-wise) thanks in advance simon
  7. Hehe no probs - funny cos I've been fiddling with Photoshop, trying to colour in my wheels to see how they might look in black, so you've saved me from bothering to learn how to do it! I'm keen to change from chrome to shadow chrome or grey, but the mrs says she likes the chrome.. Some real nice rims on this post, wish now I'd had the chance to choose mine instead of buying the car with them on. Not wanting to hijack this thread, but is it normal on 20's to feel every last detail of the road? It's not so bad at up to 80kmh, but once at freeway speeds there's a constant vibration. Had them balanced and aligned just after buying it, which reduced the vibration substantially, but it's still a little too much for me.. Even the Farmer Fwy transmits vibration, and it's possibly the smoothest tarmac in Perth!
  8. Thanks! Still not upgrading the brakes though. Maybe if I ever decide to upgrade power, or fill the boot with concrete it'll be warranted .. Apologies for the overuse of smilies, I can't get enuff of 'em
  9. South - please see my signature - 'thanks' for your opinion, unfortunately I was asking for technical advice, not opinions. Maybe I will start another thread for people to hang sh!t on me for choosing this car because it had those rims on it. OR NOT, since buying a car is a personal choice, made for personal reasons. Your opinion, whilst important to you, means jack sh!t to me. Can't see your car pictured anywhere champ, got any photo's? AND! WTF matter is it if the brakes look small compared to the wheels? They aren't there to look good, they are there to stop the car. Thanks to others for responding to my post with meaningful info - anyone else who wants to give me cr@p about the way something looks can PM me, so we can leave it off the forum. Warm Regards Simon
  10. Rims shocking in what way? I didn't ask them to put them on, they had already moved them from the phantom coloured one before we drove it. Good to hear you enjoyed thrashing my car.
  11. Hi there I bought my BF XR6Turbo a few weeks back, it's silver and has 20" AU Racing rims fitted, with Wan-Li 225/35ZR20 fitted (no I didn't buy them, no I wouldn't buy them... Yes I have considered selling them and getting 18-19" with GOOD tyres so I can get some grip ) The rolling circumference of these is about 1cm more than that of the factory spare. A friend tells me he thinks it sits too high on these wheels, I can't see it being any more or less than the 1cm mentioned above, though I admit it could do with coming down a bit to help with the 'I'm a pimp' look. Anyway, I am interested in dropping it but unsure of the following; -How far I can drop it without rubbing etc -How much it might cost -Where in Perth area someone might know of for me to get this done Could post a photo later on if anyone takes an interest in answering the above. Cheers fellas, great forum Simon
  12. Didn't have any choice with mine, they were on the car when bought - reckon they look pretty good though.. Can take come pics for you if required.
  13. Not sure about needing the converter, thanks for your reply though - this link suggests it does have RGB out; http://www.ikesound-car-audio.com/rec/3052-Alpine-VPA-B211A/ Far as I can tell the navigation system passthru is RGB. What I don't yet know is whether the navigation out is the main out, and can be hooked straight to the screen via a wiring harness (bought or botched together). If so I'll be happy.. Can probably work the rest out with the help of this quality forum. Cheers all! Si
  14. Hi there, Just bought an Alpine 211A vehicle hub for my XR6T, only to be told by the local alpine dealer I need a further ~$1000 worth of wiring harness to hook it up to the ICC. Before I throw it in the bin, can anyone help me out with info regarding installation of this unit, ie are the wiring harness for BF that expensive, or can I fudge a custom one to connect it in? Also can anyone tell me if the 'Navigation Out' is the output I'd be porting to the ICC for video? Many thanks! Simon
