  6. I needed new discs and pads for the front at spot on 48,000 on my BF II F6 (4 pot). OEM looked like it was going to be expensive so I went with Race Brakes and DBA 5000 with SBS Pads, the idea being an upgrade and cheaper at the next change as you keep the top hat section. The initial bite was great with no fade but I got issues with them at 67,500ish after a track day. DVT I think is the description, but the sympton is disc shudder. I put up with it for months and finally skimmed them within a mm of the tolerences at the 75,000 service. By the 80,000 they were shot so skimming doesn't work so well with these large discs. In a nut shell as I got 48,000 from the OE and only 32 for DBA (or even 20 before they developed a shudder), there might be some value in the OE. Now that I've got a newer F6 I will have the same dilema when the OE discs are done. So far they look fine as the car has 30,000 on it (I'm 2nd owner) so I might get more if the previous driver was easy on them. The DBA and SBS combo was spot on for feel and was exactly what I asked Matt for but they were noisy, not sure if others have found that, but it is nice to have the window open in traffic again and not hang my head in shame sounding like I need new pads or just don't look after my car ;-)
  7. I use to have a BF II F6 Build 11, but now the proud owner of FG Build 308 - Black Sedan, auto.
  8. Hi Sparksy, Did you have any issues changing the settings ? Is yours a BF II ? I'm sure I'll end up putting it back to standard, but it niggles me that I can't get it to auto arm. I'll re-type what the manual says when I get home tonight. See if you all agree with how I interpret what it says.
  9. Hi All, My first post, be gentle with me. I picked up my BF II Typhoon a couple of weeks back (2200 kms already), and as you do I read the manual (Well some of you). There was a section about setting up the alarm to auto arm. Well having the alarm seemed to make sense that it should auto arm so I thought I would try it. The manual talks about unlocking the car, turning the ignition key to acc 8 times or 16 times then to off, press the unlock on the key fob and..... well nothing. Its meant to flash the indicators and change the options. Could I get this to work, I think I might have worn out the key already. I managed to change the unlock to only unlock the drivers door, but nothing else would work. Anyone out there changed these settings and got it working ? BTW these cars are so good, I had a BA XR6 T with a CAPA and 234 rwkw, but the F6 is very different, best decision I've made for a while. Thanks for your advice.
