  5. Hey Everyone, Just heard and read for that matter that Ford will be updating the XR range before the release of the Orion Falcon due out in early 2008. The update effects all XR across the entire range from the Turbo to the XR8 and standard XR6. The updates aren't total revitalising changes, but it does add some more exclusitivity to the performance nature of the XR range, that it previously missed out on. Heres some more details and pics of whats on the horison: WebWombat: http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring/news_...n-xr-update.htm Cheers Prim
  6. Hi Guys, I saw that too the other week on Car Advice. It seems a bit wiered to me though, cause even though the car has already been released in Europe you would still think ford would cover it up, at least the changed bits of the car. Any how the other thing that I don't get is, why doesn't it have a more agressive front like the Focus XR5 Turbo and there isn't any sport like spoiler or stainless tip exhausts, just the standard cosmetic elements. I have some doubt that this is really the XR5 Turbo version of the Mondeo, it is unusuall to see the same name as well. I hope Ford changes the power output, cause a lot more weight is sitting on the ground than the Focus XR5 Turbo and the extra boost would really benefit the car. More info and pics on this car is needed to really know whats going on. Cheers Prim
  7. Hi Everyone, I was just doing some searchin' on the new falcon coming out next year and stumbled across this little bit of information. I don't know if any of you guys know about it, but FPV plans to launch three new limited edition models at the October motor show down in Sydney. Two of the cars have been confirmed, one being the 30th anniversary Cobra 302 GT and the other being the beefed up FPV Territory. The third model has been speculated to be a modified version of the F6 Typhoon under the name G6 or R6. The Phoon will probably share major components from the DRIFT F6 concept from last year. It will also probably gain an R-spec package similar to that on the current 40th Anniversary GT. Check the links below for more info and see what you think: Car Point: http://www.carpoint.com.au/car-review/2731295.aspx Car Advice: http://www.caradvice.com.au/4723/new-plan-for-fpv/ Sounds pretty good to me, finally FPV are taking on HSV's onslaught of performance cars. Cheers Prim
  8. Hey, I am not sure if anyone knows yet, but Ford is in the process of releasing an FPV modified Turbo Territory. It doesn't really surprise me though, casue it is basically the only thing not on the FPV roster. There isn't really much information on it at the momment, but car advice does have a write up on it and MOTOR magazine recently published a post on it as well. Car Advice - FPV Territory http://www.caradvice.com.au/3724/slammin-f...tory-on-the-way Should be interesting to see what FPV comes up with though, but it is expected to share some of the F6 Typhoon's setup and components. By the way if anyone wants to know anything about stuff like this or the 2008 falcon, I have just started up a wiki page. Everyone is welcome to add to it, as it is open to the public. I think its a good thing because it allows us to put information (that we know) in one location that everyone can access and view. If your are interested come take a look: http://2008falcon.wikispaces.com Cheers Prim
  9. Hi Guys, The new Typhoon is really something to get excited about. I reckon the new car looks heaps more aggressive and modernised for this age, which should give it the upper hand against HSV, especially with 300kW under the hood. Ford's done a great job, they haven't gone to overboard and have just built on the BA's/BF's fundamentals, that were already good. I am certainly looking forward to the new model when it gets released, definetly a car on my wish list. By the way I have just started up a Wiki page for everything related on the 2008 falcon. Everyone is welcome to add to it, as it is open to the public. I think its a good idea so we can centralise some of the stuff we currently know about the new model and inform others. Take a look if you are interested: http://2008falcon.wikispaces.com/ Cheers Prim
  10. Hey Everyone, Just bought the new Wheels magazine today and had a squiz at the write up the new FPV models coming out in 2008. I must say the car looks heaps good and way more modern, but still aggressive. The mags got some interesting news in it about engine specs and design ques, they even give you some news on the new Hurricane engine that will be fitted in 2010 to the Orion update. I reckon Expensive Daewoo will be quite on edge, maybe not as much with the new GT's, but the Typhoon will certianly put HSV in a tight spot. Pretty hard to beat a tubo six with there V8's, considering its lighter and has higher acceleration. Anyway good to see Ford giving it all they got. By the way just started up a Wiki page for the new falcon, that all of you are welcome to add to, its open to everyone. Just thought I would put everything we know about the 2008 Falcon in a central spot that everyone can view and access. I haven't finished the wiki completely (just done the front page). Here's the link if you are interested: http://2008falcon.wikispaces.com/ Cheers Prim
  11. Hey! Just had a look at those pics on car advice and the Gt looks really sweet. Heaps more agressive at the front and the buldge on the bonnet looks awsome. I think Holdens in for a surprise when the new falcon comes out, by the looks of the photos Expensive Daewoo should be shivering in their boots, the new VE won't even stand a chance. By the way anyone read this months MOTOR magazine, cause they have an interesting write up about the new falcon. Wheels is also having another write up about the new falcon in next months issue, with more exclusive details on it. Cheers Prim
  12. Hey check out the new pics that have just been posted on the internet of the new falcon. Although they some parts are hidden with covers, you can still make out some of the design, but you can see more of the XR6 (blue car) looks pretty agressive from the rear too. Here are the links: 2008 Falcon link 1 - Car Advice 2008 Falcon Link 2 - Drive Take a look at them and see what you think... Cheers Prim
  13. Hi guy's, I reckon it looks pretty good, smooth lines and design cues, definetly give it a sense of Aussie heritage. The mags look awsome too, very agressive looking. The Scoop on the bottom of the doors also give it more of an agressive and high performance look. If the orion looks marginally the same, I'll be happy!! Cheers Prim
  14. Yep Expensive Daewoo sure do dominate this years season, at the moment and what really catches my eye is how the Toll HSV cars seem to be the only holdens winning races and speeding ahead of the pack. I really think there is something different about those cars, not just different setup, but some kind of unfair advantage, cause not even the other VE's can keep up with them (sounds a bit fishy to me). Anyway its probably something that will be realised by the governing bodies at the end of the season, when its to late, like usual. Ford really cops alot of slack from Expensive Daewoo and despite the unfair advantages, I give them recognition for hanging in there and keeping the fans happy. Cheers Prim
  15. Hey guys, I'm with 01txr, Expensive Daewoo just bend the rules to get good results in V8 Supercars and Ford just cops all the slack. A classic example of this was the last race of last years season, when clearly you could see Tander blocking and slowing down to try and stop Lowndes from passing, so his team mate Kelly could get away. Next thing you know Tander got a penalty for illegal blocking (Which he rightfully deserved, mind you they probably should have been disqualified for it), so that caused Lowndes to pass and since the Toll HSV team and Kelly new that Lowndes had the speed advantage compared to Kelly, he took Lowndes car out, so he could win the race. I know most people and even Expensive Daewoo fans despised this action and clearly new who had won the race, not Kelly, but Lowndes. I think Kelly should have been disqualified for this action and shouldn't have been able to win the championship. I reckon the chanpionship win last year should have gone to Wincup, since he was 3rd on the championship ladder, that way both parties would have been happy. The end of last years season was an absaloute regret for me, as this was not racing, but clear revenge and selfishness. I can tell you now is that way Brock would have wanted it, I think not and I am sure most people agree with me, but once again Expensive Daewoo seems to shift and twist the rules around to making themselves look good. Anyway that's my opinion, but I am sure most of you would agree with me on last years results. Cheers Prim
