  3. Renting is more expensive than a mortgage. Fite me

  4. that's exactly the same as me! I don't have anything to print at home so its not worth it for me. Its really neat being able to access one though, when I need it. I'm printing two more of these too. Justification, "test prints to ensure the printer is behaving as expected" 🤣

  5. As I said before, I'd share a photo of the backboard of the car. This piece of MDF is actually intended to hold the two amps in the boot. But also works great as a place to mount sh*t. Its messy, but manageable. I'll eventually remove the amps from the ground block and have them on their own grounds. I just didn't want to drill on the panel just below the MDF (where the hanger is mounted) because I was scared the fuel tank was behind it, and that would be a bad time hahah. Hopefully the pump doesn't cause too much electrical noise for the amps, if it does I'll consider making a noise suppression board to reduce it. In time, though EDIT: This board is also not final, I have done a lot of drilling and screwing and sh*t to it, so I will be cutting out another one in the future and redoing the power wiring for the amps. This is perfectly fine for now

  6. Cleaned the 3D printer at work on Friday and needed to run a test print. Added this into print too seeing as my brother has been asking for one for literal years hahah Its one of them cup stop things so your drinks don't go falling over. Also serves well as a little coin holder too You can put it in the other way though, if you don't want the extra little storage compartment. Just needs a bit of gloss black and it'll look mint! Printed using a Formlabs photopolymer resin. I had printed one for myself many years ago in a glass reinforced resin, but we dont' have any left - it was also expensive lol. That one is still holding up great. Interested to see how this resin goes during the summer months

  7. Nothing exciting, just a little bench test box for testing tail lights. It'll save me having to put them in to the car constantly to test. Rather just bench test them Will also be an easy way to show the difference between a factory set and my custom set. Stickers to label the switches have been made since this photo was taken. Putting the Mrs Cricut Explore 3 to good use 🤣 For anyone curious how this thing works: It uses an STM32 dev board as the brains, it takes the switches as inputs (with some s/w debounce to reduce components) and triggers some relays to switch the higher current outputs. I did it this way so I could eventually run stress test patterns and I can also set the indicator switching speed.

  8. Sounds to me like you may have a broken motor in the H.I.M. IIRC, you can replace this without removing the dash - I just don't remember if they are unique to each car, I.e. if you need to get it programmed or something. I don't think you do, but I'm not 100% certain A broken mixer shaft is a more common failure, but that leads to just having super cold air, not a vent issue. Do some digging on the forum and see if this issue has been talked about before.

  9. ok so got the car back after all the work APS have done. They sent the head off for checking before reinstalling and they found some of the valves were not sealing properly so some machining was done. The old head gasket was starting to fail in multiple sections and likly casued by loss of tension on the head bolts they said. On their dyno made consistant 328kw. 12 years ago at Pitlane was tuned to 351kw. One think im not very happy about is they managed to scratch the top of the front grill garnish as if they dragged something across the top of it. I didnt see it untill I got home. Also there is a tiny coolant leak coming from the metal hose connection into under the thermostat housing. I assume there is an o-ring installed. What size is it so I can change it over. They did a great job and the car is running great again.
