If the shackle bolt breaks...
INSTEAD! Radiator removed and A/C condenser in situ.
Buy a 100mm $16 + postage chinese puller
The feet should be 20mm wide
Cut the rounded feet off the legs
Add a few old sockets to fit
Put it in, then turn it
Tap the balancer with a soft hammer while turning the breaker bar to remove.
Tip: remove bellhousing inspection cover and place a socket (neodymium magnet helps) on the head of the torque converter bolt to stop crank moving.
Remove old seal
Place a new seal on the balancer, using the crankshaft bolt, tighten to refit the balancer.
Careful with the puller legs, remove the balancer. Seal will be half in the timing cover. Drive seal home with pipe, socket, press tool etc
Oil the seal lip (if you want to, add a spot of silicone to the crank key) and refit the balancer with some Loctite on the bolt thread, torque to 115Nm
