It might look like I'm just uploading the same photos and not achieving much.. Well, 7 hours in the garage today wet sanding. I got myself setup with various grit paper and foam sanding pads. I went over the whole car with 1000 disc, whole car 2000 disc, 2000 whole car by hand and block and then finished with another round of 2000 on the roof bonnet and boot. The car is looking good. Still some minor defects in the paint and I could keep sanding to make the surface perfectly level but I will keep as much paint on the panels for future corrections. The pads work and they are very forgiving. Designed to use damp so I got an old spray bottle and filled it with water. Spritz on the panels and on the pads and as you run the machine over the panel you can see the slurry of paint its taking away. They are very fine because a sheet of 2000 is course compared to the 2000 pad. You can see the white colour transfer on the old pads from today. At this stage I will go over the car with 3000 maybe twice and get ready for compound and polish. A few additions are some genuine ford floor mats with locking tab for the drivers seat and a cover for the center console. Looks pretty nice, eBay job, wetsuit material.
