  1. Got the ute together. Turns out if you weld a 90* on the outlet of a gtx3582 g2 it sounds like a t51. Awesome. Cold start and that spool at idle, unreal.

  6. Had a pretty productive day. @Camo86T is a bloody legend. Got the new turbo front cover and hot side pipe welded up with plazmaclamp flanges. Got home, pulled the old turbo out, the manifold, dump and all the studs. Made a mess getting the heat wrap off which pretty much crumbled. New exhaust gaskets and studs, new turbo gasket and studs, fitted the new dump studs. Fitted a new turbosmart actuator, 14 Psi spring, set the preload and bolted it up. Will bolt the dump in tomorrow and top the coolant up. Will give it a week or so before wrapping the manifold again to make sure the nuts are tight after a few heat cycles.

  7. Well, the one near work means I can leave earlier for work - so traffic will be much lighter and I'll definitely get a preferred parking spot. Plus I can make coffee at home and drink it in the car on the way to the gym - which gives me a little more time to wake up and be less stiff before I get to the gym compared to the one near home. However, the downside is that their closest gym to my house is 10+mins drive away instead of 6. The gym that's closer to home is a standalone (ie not a club), I've been there before and doesn't tend to get many poser gym junkie types there. Both will be able to fit into my schedule, I guess it's more about how I want that schedule to look... Kinda both. Appreciate there's other ways to get fit, but if I decide to go running and then it rains all week that's less than ideal. Where as I can go to the gym, lift some heavy things and then do a few kms on the treadmill if the weather is terrible. I think it's mostly about actually setting a routine that includes exercise, as I haven't really done that regularly and definitely not since working in the city.

  10. A teaser, of recent progress. It's 95% complete, I just have to install some micro switches for the hazard lights and the dimming switches for the dash/Icc illumination.. Then it will be permanently installed.

  11. My bench was always my weak part. After 10 months I could row 140kg for 10 but could only bench 110 for 6. Can do nothing for nothing now though. #allthebeers

  12. Psychologically everyone responds to motivators in different ways.... is it a choice ... yes... but if you can curve your “laziness” for lack of a better term, by doing them in a different location because that means more productivity, then so be it. When I I was a gym junkie after I had Hudson, I had zero motivation at home because I was tired and up all night etc etc, but an hour a day respite at the gym made me want to do things, then at home I was more inclined to be more active. I was doing 1&1/2 hours at the gym every day plus a 5km walk with jet and sit ups and push ups every night.... without the gym in the first place I would have done nothing because it was all too hard at home. Same reason as I cannot study by correspondence, as I get distracted and too busy doing life that I don’t do the study. I think people are just different. And hey if you can do that all from home then kudos to you... you get to save the $14 a week. Doesn’t mean the people who can’t are lazy ... means they motivate in a different way.

  14. Similar to what fluff said though, at home there's too much distraction - if I get to the gym I'll do things. And I guess my idea with the gym near work is that I have to go there anyway, so it's not overly out the way.

  30. Seeing as I can’t make a new topic I’ll post in here. Zane of MAXX performance out of Melbourne is coming to NZ (Auckland) to tune some cars. (Zane is a kiwi) This is a awesome opportunity for us here in NZ to have our cars tuned by someone who tunes barras everyday! Experienced with HP Tuners, SCT, PCMTEC. Exact dates are to be confirmed but likely to be next month (May) If there is a enough he is hoping to make it a semi regular thing, I will be having my personal car tuned by him when it’s done. Check out some of there work, https://www.facebook.com/MaxxPerformance58/

  35. So this week I had a chest X-ray and mri of my pelvis ...working with my specialist and getting there but basically thinking it’s a type of mixed connective tissue disease and possibly lupus as well. Had a three day sick leave the other day because I couldn’t lift my arms properly (like to feed myself with a fork) without tiring and had ulcers all through my mouth... that was fun. Good news is the NSAID drugs are helping for the moment to reduce inflammation as the type I (presumably) have is involving the spine and pelvis so I can actually sleep for the first time in 6-12 months. Bad news is I can’t figure out wtf my arsehole is doing!! Was fine all day now spending all night on the loo chitting through the eye of a needle. Sexy I know! @JETURBO has been so amazing! Words don’t reflect how lucky I am to have him. As well as working over time central on two stressful huge government contracts, helping people out with their cars like a super Choona, he is home being my tea biatch, super dad, laundry maid, chef and carer when I feel like arse... which is a lot of the time. And the best part is he still makes me laugh and is my best mate like nothing’s different. So this is wpmo but also a WMMFG post I guess as I feel extremely lucky to have him.
