  5. I'm not 100% sure but think we did about 860km around Tassie (forgot to reset my trip counter) over the 5 days or 26 hrs in the saddle. The farrkn freak of YLD127 car prolly used a LOT less fuel - but I used 240 litres ... Definitely need to book something like Room 2111 again at Strahan Village - just so we can retire in the evenings to a bit of Bortelli Old Boys or Gallway whilst watching the sunset over Strahan Harbour Think we all agreed we'd bring fishing rods next time - ate a lot of Glad we did some more sight-seeing this trip - side trip to Spikey Bridge (apparently spikes put there to stop livestock from going over the sides). Can still see the sea shells embedded in the concrete guessing from the local sand used. We did a bit of cider run on Monday down the SW coast - stopped off at Pagan's and Frank's local apple (and other fruits) cider farms - looking forward to sipping a few this week.

  7. Figured I'd better post here, cos always posting in the ot thread is a bit lazy. The roof is nearly complete. There is just some flashing and minor gutter work that needs to be done, which the guys will do in the morning. I had to replace a bunch of fascia boards, so the wife and I knocked that out over the weekend. Sunburn galore! We had insulation installed under the roof sheets and I also re-insulated part of the roof, of a bedroom, that was in very poor condition. It'll be interesting to see how much difference it makes over the weekend, as we are in for mid to high 30's again. The solar is being installed tomorrow, and should be online by this time next week. It's a 10.5kw system with a Fronius 8.2kw inverter. I'm definitely looking forward to some lower power bills! Agl is installing the new meter/s next week and then I'll have some piece and quiet around here...except for the kids lol. Happy dayz

  8. Hey guys who would have thought this would be the first thread I start?! I've been talking with the missus lately about how we need to get out and explore the countryside a bit more, and have decided to get out once a month or so for a night away. As most of you know I have young kids and I know other members do too, so I'll organise family friendly plans so the little uns keep happy and also help the wives/gfs/bfs/other halves feel welcome too. Due to my current schedule, I'm thinking that shorter weekend, day and/or overnight, trips will be good and should allow other members to get out more often too. So that's about it really. I'm gonna wait till my house upgrades are finished and hopefully should have something worked out in a month or so. If anyone has any ideas or whatever then leave them below and we'll get it sorted. Happy days

  15. speaking of solar I saw works electricity bill the other day, $1200...credit! so to say the new solar panels are doing their thing. this is a bunnings size warehouse. offices/pcs/ etc. not bad. I will remember to grab a photo of the units inside they mounted.

  16. Our system is similar to yours in size but because we have 4 splits not ducted, we can just turn on one at a time as the solar ramps up in the morning Though the lounge/kitchen is an 8kva unit and the initial cool down is always over and above the PV's capacity

  17. I've got three phase power so have arranged for a three phase inverter. Keep in mind I have a three phase main switch. Instead of splitting one phase to the j tarrif meter and sending three phases to the main switch, they sent one phase to the j tarrif, after using the m tarrif as a junction, and sent two to the main switch. Also, instead of putting the feed into the main switch as red, white and blue they put them in as white, nothing and red. While not unsafe or illegal, it isn't how you should wire up a three phase board. If I ever wanted to install a three phase plug for a lathe or the like, I would have had to call SA Power to come and fix the wiring to their meter and the main switch. Thankfully I'll be here when agl comes out so I can explain whats going on. I also have some spare cable to make their job easier.

  18. This is where you're wrong. If you added to the discussion, in an informative and non-pompous manner, we actually WOULD find it valuable and interesting. There's a way to impart knowledge without coming across like an arse.

  19. I find it funny when someone believes they’re skilled in an area, then doesn’t offer anything of value to the conversation in regards to the subject in question, but rather just tells everyone else that they’re essentially dumb and that their knowledge is inferior.....which adds zero to an interaction and Infact makes the person in question look like a total ignoramus. Life hack: You can be smart and ignorant at the same time... it costs nothing to be humble or nice. Those things will stay in people’s memories... no one cares for someone’s specific knowledge of irrelevant topics nor does it make people think you’re smart because they’re too busy thinking you’re an arse holio

  20. probably not. you'll just have more of it, so it might "seem" laggier, as it'll take longer for it to reach the higher peak boost haha

  22. it'll only make the car faster, if that's what you mean by "driveability"... but if you mean "can I drive it to the tuner", if you stay off boost, it should be fine with the current tune You'll be limited by the stock turbo so it's unlikely you'll go anywhere above 330rwkw.

  23. Going fishing tonight and tomorrow and hopefully we'll get out to the reef if it's flat enough. Will fish Hinchinbrook Island or the end of the sugar jetty at Lucinda if we don't so no biggy. Will be good to get away for the night with a mate though as I rarely leave the house these days.....

  26. there you go again, big noting yourself we were talking about email addresses WTF has that got to do with being an IT expert I like to think I know IT, but I just use google and fumble my way through BTW, X is an unknown quantity, and spurt is a drip under pressure

  27. It was definitely a few levels above "better than nothing". A before and after walk around would be a nice inclusion, and if your other camera battery didn't go flat, it would have been great. I watch a lot of car related youtube channels, and I think you would get a decent following going, with a few small additions and tweaks here and there.

  28. had fun making my autocross video over the last couple of evenings. It's pretty rough, lots of stuff I would like to improve upon, but that's part of the creative process I guess and I would rather get something made now that's acceptable than never reaching what I think is really good and not releasing anything

  29. What about what I said was inaccurate? Don't get me wrong, I don't profess to be an IT expert...but I do work for a software company and provide support and training for a living...so I'm not completely useless with it.

  30. Fantastic weekend like always. Great to do a bit more of the north east - Scottsdale was a fantastic road (who am I kidding - they're all fantastic roads) The boys kicked me out and made me sleep under the stars last night (apparently I snore) Can't wait for the next cruise. As Gary said, Will look at tieing next year's Tassie cruise in with the Supercars. Hopefully a Great Ocean Road cruise mid July (prob tie in with school holidays to get @puffwagon along)

  32. Ok, let me qualify...we don't use an @gmail email address...we just use gmail as our email client, similarly to using Microsoft Outlook as a client for whatever your business email address is. So, chances are a lot of your clients are using gmail in the same way. You guys can go back to having NFI now 🤣

  33. See ya Tassie - thanks for a fantastic 5 days driving Rab and YLD127 Thanks Rab for letting me hole up in your cabin, the chunky delish steaks and leading some of the way through the awesome twisties Thanks YLD127 for letting us stay in your cabin by the seaside again, saving my drone up the tree that threatened to give it a dunk in the ocean and being our "local" here showing us the way I think it was a really good move to base ourselves 2 nights in 2 places - great move Rab We're thinking of doing this again next year during SuperV8s Simmons Plains prolly early April we're guessing then similar route 2 days West Coast and 2 days East Coast - keep a look out for the thread when it posts up

  37. The mantic stuff is really starting to look good, extra tabs to stop vibration and rattles. Interested to see how it goes. B series is definately smaller than the FG. Only got one pic of each to compare but you can see from where the machined tabs are that the FG is bigger. Bf is in the bell housing, FG on the motor.

  38. I watch all the porn...all of it... I pay between $300 and $420 per month. Last December the daily average was 39kWh and July was 35kWh. The lower months are 25kWh, and obviously they gradually change from month to month. This will only increase as the kids get older. With the new roof I'm getting installed, I'm also getting 50mm of insulation under the iron so that should help out a bit.
