  1. It’s “Mainly” to do with the internal contacts and switching capabilities of the GPO .... it’s a 10A single or double GPO installed in 99% of domestic dowelings power CCT’s can have a number ( and that specific number is a calculated figure from The wiring rules AS3000 and 2008 with “De rating” corrections applied ) of GPO’s attached .... say x5 double GPO’s that can handle “Technically” 100A but only a 16A cct breaker... doesn’t make sense does it ? The process is the breaker protects the cable ( and a 2.5mm2 cable over 100mtrs can handle much more than 16A-Typically ) and the GPO can handle whatever is plugged into it AND the fact “Typically” you’ll never use all GPO’s flat out drawing big current at the same time. That’s why you’ll pop a breaker when you do start loading things up ( Dryer, toaster, kettle, washing machine at the same time - that said a good installation will always have separate ccts for laundry and kitchen areas ) .... a 10A GPO can only handle 10A worth of demand through the contacts and switch on the face plate “Hence” why bigger appliances have the 15A plugs on them with the big earth stub/prong , but that said you might have a Welder with a 15A plug but only draws say 9.8A on 75% load or 11.2A flat out ( we don’t always need a welder running flat out ) if you were to file down the earth stub/prong or replace it with a 10A plug top you could use it successfully in a shed where that GPO is not going to be run all the time ( or even for an extended period ) and almost guaranteed not to be switched off by the face switch whilst flowing the full load demand. that's why “most” electricians will say “shell be right mate” lol IF you had say a big A/C window unit and planned on running it for extended periods of time that was a 15A plug top there’s every chance it’ll cook the internal contacts of a 10A GPO and would require a dedicated 15A GPO and CCT wiring cheers

  2. HDMI carries audio. Monitor might not have speakers inbuilt, but have a 3.5mm jack you can plug speakers into.

  3. B series intake. FG engine and large turbo. Minor mods for 300 at the wheels. Smoking SS for fun. So fast off the line. Just need rear LSD to stop wheel spin. And 285 tyres...

  7. That would be a best case scenario honestly older homes will have a single CCT for the oven and sometimes will actually have a 10A style GPO as it maybe gas powered oven but require mains supply for the fan forced and light the CCT maybe of big supply ( 32A breaker and 6mm2 cable ) but what looks like a 10A single GPO face plate as the oven plug may oy be a 10A male plug you could easily use this single GPO for what you require if you changed the face plate out to a 15A and then cut the plug top off the oven and installed a 15A plug top and you’re set..... just would need to check the breaker and cable size to be sure

  8. Typical house power ccts are 16A breaker with 2.5mm2 cable lighting ccts are 10A breaker with 1.5mm2 cable oven/induction ccts are 32A breakers with 4mm2 or sometimes 6mm2 cable in the event someone or a contract requires a single 15A GPO the cct breaker will be a 20A and a 4mm2 cable

  9. Haha obviously. The software I provide training and support for as my job currently uses Perl for scripting but they've recently started introducing Python, which will be what they use more and more in the future - so it'll be handy for automating software functionality. We have an in-house scripting guru who clients pay to write client specific scripts, so I don't envisage it being my job, but handy to know and play with. Under no illusions that it'll be different to VBA, but similar principles. This has grabbed my interest - cheers!

  10. Thanks all for the details guys. Am going to grab a proper adapter to be safe instead of doing a bodge job. https://www.bunnings.com.au/ampfibian-15a-to-10a-mini-d-i-y-power-adaptor_p7050104 I've got a couple of US items without switching power supplies - some of which have heating elements etc - better safe than sorry. Lol - one of the pics for the adapter mentioned above show this exact scenario Maybe cheap insurance for your boss in case something goes wrong

  11. 10A is the norm because multiple outlets on the same circuit. But if nothing else was on the same power circuit 2.5mm cable and the run is short 16A no problem. 15A outlet and appliances have large earth because they need to be plugged into individual (separate) circuit. Ie only one item on the circuit.

  13. The Realtek software should have an option to detect headphone. You may have to tell it the jack is being used for headphones, not speakers. Or, uninstall the realtek software, let windows control the audio. I use CheVolume - handy app, klets you choose different audio outputs for each app http://www.chevolume.com/

  16. ohh before you do anything else. I am assuming you have a manual, now that you mention the clutch pedal. Mine had the same problem. the spring for the pedal actually cracked and snapped on mine. the spring was replaced with a stock valve spring!!!! they had to use a die grinder to grind a tad on the inside, but it actually fit in and did the job. The whole pedal assembly was going to cost me $280 just because of a spring.

  18. Was putting the car up on stands and it swung very slightly as I was jacking for the third stand. (Pivoted on the one wheel that was on the ground and I think I had slightly lifted it off one of the other stands). I was well out of the way as always and the car didn't drop or anything, but the corner of the front bumper tagged the roller door guide. Bar will need a spray now. I guess when you DIY, the thousands you save offset any occasional stuff ups. Still pretty pissed at myself though.
