  1. Well meet up with Rab and Paul this afternoon in Christchurch, was great to meet them and put a face to the name. I joined them for the drive towards Greymouth parting ways on the West Coast side of Otira Gorge. Was great fun through the twisty roads around the mountains and both vehicles got to stretch the legs a little. That AMG has got some go to it. Was an easy 1hr back home from where I left them and seem to have misplaced about 2/3 of a tank of 98 quite quickly today. Depending what the guys get up to will catch them later in the week possibly.

  3. Kevlar is supposed to be nicer to drive than ceramic but from what I know needs a higher clamping force to hold. Would be interesting to see if it was a different pressure plate or only the clutch plates that differ in that npc clutch. I drive my ute pretty hard, have not killed the Xtreme twin plate ceramic clutch yet . It's not the easiest clutch to get used to that's for sure but it's nice and cheap. Have gone through 2 axles since I've had the clutch in so its not for lack of trying lol.

  4. Haha. Great minds think alike and all that. Great to catch up. Hopefully get another run in before we head off. Don't want to look at the fuel used, but the range left on the tank started going up once we left you Thanks heaps for showing us the fun bits

  7. Check ya car to make sure your airbag isn't an accidental grenade. Apparently in S.A you wont be able to register your car if it is affected, from November 1st. https://ismyairbagsafe.com.au/

  8. Look up Monster Clutches. They make a triple plate that can take 1500rwhp and more than likely can make up a custom one to suit your mates car. Cleetus McFarland on yootoob (also featured on the Monster Clutches home page) has a manual corvette drag car running a face plated t56 magnum with a triple plate clutch that has done 300 odd passes at close to and over 1000rwhp with dozens of dyno pulls in the mix. He has just recently run a 7.8 second pass at 176 mph. Edit: Manuals are for tractors and cars that need a push start.

  9. At Dunedin tonight. Great days of leaving skid marks around NZ Off to Christchurch tomorrow and joining up with @Wenier for some recommend roads. Car is pretty awesome, luxurious, comfy, chick magnet etc. Bit of tweaking and it'd be magical. Mine pulls harder, stops better and handles better but aren't complaining Foods great, roads are great, coppers are polite and friendly, scenery is breathtaking, people talk funny, petrol is fucking ridiculously expensive ($2.50/l compared to the $0.70?? I pay at home for gas - $120 for 500kms vs $50 at home) The AMG is decent on economy though - not a Hyundai, but not a siphon. Pics/vids to come when I get to them. Anyone looking to join us definitely should.

  10. Sliding door snib snapped on me today...while I was outside...and my keys were inside. Thank fark I had my phone on me and could call my folks to come let me in...and order pizza for lunch while I waited. Meanwhile the dog was inside, mocking me...
