  2. Got this bad boy in the mail today. Cheering hopefully I get a chance to install this evening and hopefully it is as straight forward a swap as I’ve been envisioning. Looks like I’ll have to dig around for my set or torx bits and I’m guessing finding those will be the hardest part since I haven’t laid eyes on them since I moved out of home. Over the next few weeks I’ll be installing new Monroe GT lowered shocks with the second hand kffl-57sl x springs I bought months ago. Also will be dropping the diff cradle and re doing the 3 diff support bushes and also new oil filter and Castrol edge 5w40 full synthetic oil with earls inline filter. Once I have that out of the way I’ll look at servicing the zf with the genuine zf lifeguard fluid and maybe install a external cooler for it also.

  3. Just popped up on my facebook. Replacement ICC for the FG's (in the comments he says both MK's of the FG and also the FGX) Have been looking for options to upgrade the audio in mine - this may come close. Will wait for some reviews from around, but could be a goer with the SatNav, android and more powerful AMP etc Anyone else heard of this or "Kayhan Audio"?

  5. Looking better and better: "another Q? Does the unit allow playstore apps to run on it? e.g. - Tom Tom Sat Nav, Harry's Lap Timer etc" Yes it does. No problems anytime I've got a fast GPS unit - can pair it with the phone for trackdays etc and run Harry's, but is a PITA to juggle everything. Pairing the unit with the screen would be brilliant, especially if it'll accept the OBDII data as well.

  8. I'm not familiar with the thread repair stuff. Is it like a quickmetal putty or epoxy? If so you'd still have to be careful not to get any in the sump. Yes you could use some sort of rtv silicone as a temp fix. Make sure you clean all oil off flanges and the bolt with brake cleaner or metho. Put a bit on the face of the flange and about 5 to 10mm of the bolt shaft/thread near the head of bolt, and I'd let it set for 24 hrs before driving. As I said I think it will be a temp fix so it may still drip but at least you'll slow it down.

  12. BCB's avatar is an old Whorehey ride. Was actually impressed with his ride over the weekend on a wet track. 1st time in ages he hasn't become female as soon as stuff gets moist.

  13. End thread [emoji24] Bit sad to see it go, but learned a ton about these cars over the past 3 years that I can now apply to the new FG, so winning!
