  1. Every installer has a bad day, some just have them 5 days a week and 52 weeks of the year. Bloody dipsh*ts. Some just don't give a fark.

  2. Hey welcome! My suggestion is don't buy the first thing that comes along. I've noticed it always looks good on paper. You only really know if its good or not if you've had a chance to compare with lots of different ones that are on sale. You'll know when its the one - price will be right and it will have the right features in the condition that you are after. What perked your interest in XR6T's? If it was a mate's - maybe get him to come along on your first several inspections of cars on sale to get his viewpoint. But definitely drive as many as you can to get a feel for what feels right and what does not. You'll also get an appreciation of conditions of things like interior and engine having driven several of them - things like brake shudder (very very common in early BAs - its very rare not to have brake shudder unless the owner has changed out the rotors and pads to something else that is not Ford OEM). Chatting on line and posting up is good - but nothing beats face to face so depending on where you are based - feel free to join us at an event so you can chat with some of us "knowledgeable" old farts (and not so old farts) to give you a leg up on what to look out for and also for what you might want to do later on (what you buy now may limit what you can do later on). Like generally don't buy the 5 speed manual if you plan to upgrade the power (ducks for cover as am sure there are plenty of 5 speed manuals doing quite nicely out there). Many of the other guys on here will offer their pearls of wisdom as well. Also check the search function and the pinned threads - they often hold very valuable and relevent information written by owners who have been there and done that. Good luck with it

  3. Lol that would take so long to do .cutting and welding then cutting the mdf to size . That would certainly cost more and then having to drill into the steel that would sh*t me . Think for strenght I am more than happy with mine . Lol how heavy are spray cans . Then there is the rust problems etc . I would stick with timber . A 70 x 35 stud that is 2400 long non structural is only $2.50

  5. This is a build for a drafting friend of mine. I built him a system about 18 months ago and he is very pleased with it. He's moving up in the world and is going to employ another draft person so he needs another work station. This has similar specks to the first one except graphics card is not a Quadro (he wanted to save some coin) So I don,t know how well the 1050 will cope with 3D rendering. I will run a few benchmarks before I hand it over though. Xeon CPU @ 3.4 GHz, 32 GB DDR 4 RAM @ 2133 MHz and an Asus E3 Pro Gaming V5 mobo should make it interesting. It was a bundle from PC Case Gear, I added another 16 GB of RAM to the bundle though

  9. Took the ST in for it's 3000km peace of kind service. Waiting in the waiting area I hear a car revving in the shop, look through the window to see some muppet in my car, laughing with another mechanic revving the sh*t out my car. I am thinking with a 5 year Factory backed warranty, I should take my car to family for log book services. Little sh*ts revving the sh*t out customers cars pisses me off. I made a verbal complaint but will put it in the survey too.

  15. check rear control blade bushing as well. very common for them to fail before 100k. also that there's no vibrations during drive as it might be tailshaft balancing problem. ask whether owner replaced filter in little oil feed line to turbo. they tend to clog up and cause catastrophic turbo failure if bearings get starved of fresh oil.

  18. That entry includes a free inspection so seems fine to me along with insurance costs etc for the event. I'd be annoyed if I was out of town on both dates though and had to pay for my one and only inspection. PS the 3L can is only needed if you vent to atmosphere, get it plumbed back in to intake might be easier?

  19. chair is: the cloth version, couldn't justify an extra $150 for leather! http://www.ikea.com/aa/en/catalog/products/50137208/#/20261143 I have a samsung 24inch 1920x1080 on its way soon, paid $149 when it was on sale the other day http://www.msy.com.au/peripherals/17427-samsung-pls-24-ls24f350fhex-xy-1920x1080-5ms-hdmi-d-sub-vesa-led-backlight-lcd-monitor.html Also thinking of some case lighting, not sure if to use a controller like corsair link or to just install some rgb led strips and leave it at that.

Then I stuffed up with the starter motor wirering .the soldering I did did not work as it had voltage drop . It still has aftervthey re done it so it might be the new battery or the battery relocation cable that I done 3 years ago .no idea so that will take some sorting out .

  26. Welcome From your description that turbo is totally farked! You have a few options from here. 1.Wreckers for a second hand turbo. If you do this make sure it's from a B series as the FG onwards ran a smaller exhaust wheel and it won't run quite right without a retune. 2. New. You've priced them. That's fairly ballpark. If you're not planning on modding it stick with the GT3582 and love life. 3. Go bigger and better. GTX3582 or go the gtx3576 for better response but you'll need to tune with both of these. Plus the supporting mods etc etc. As for fitting it isn't hard. It's time consuming but if you're good with the spanners you'll be ok. Most importantly. Take the filter out of your oil feed line or better yet go aftermarket line and keep it away from the exhaust manifold. Also forgot to mention that you'll want a completely new gaskets for the manifold and turbo to manifold plus all new studs and washers. Don't reuse the stock sh*t unless you like tightening things or exhaust leaks.

  27. I am having issues with my Sat Nav in my FG MK2. I have full signal strength but it constantly says 'redirecting' and it places me on a different road to what I am actually driving on. I've had Ford service dept do a diagnostic check and found nothing. Has anyone had a similar issue?
