Day started out up to sh*t. My niece had to have an emergancy C-Section at half 6 this morning as her baby didn't want to turn all the way round like it should of and thennnnnnnnn the complications started. WMMFGT Thank fark everything has turned out all right now though and she and he husband have a baby daughter. Does that make me a Grand Uncle? Pic is of my other niece holding the baby

Been watching the FIFO banter for a while. Try going bush on a tank for 6 to 8 weeks on a normal soldiers wage. No showers no toilets no aircon in fact no amenities. You FIFO guys and gals have no idea how good you have it.

So very true, in my travels I have been to over 50 country's.(not bragging) Every time I return to Australia I love this sunburnt land more and more. This is still the lucky country. In some countries I have been so shocked by how little people survive on. Brought to tears on occasion. It really pisses me off when someone complains to me about being hard done by. I'm like, "fu#ken suck it up princess, try surviving in India or Guatemala" 2016, be thankful (and happy) you live in a country where the vast majority have a job and a place to live.

Serviced the ute today Used semi synth nulon for the first time...full synth something fg cam wear something something Decided that I'll alternate between the two Also made a couple of new bar supports for the tonneau cover For the last few years I've left it open as all too often carting something around a bit high and got sick of taking it off (also why never got a hard lid though love the look of them) At some point lost the bars and even with a house move haven't tracked them down. Have seen them on ebay for around $90 delivered - each. Screw that. No doubt Ford would be the same/more. Borrowed the bars off a mate's uncle's ute and made up a couple in staino. Only thought afterwards of the wrecker option but done now. Plus making stuff = win

They are 200mm wide, though you will need something to chock behind the tyre to stop it rolling backwards. I'm going back to autObarn tomorrow to look at the plastic items that fitted in the slots of the ramp. They were $17 and I thought that was a bit pricy for plastic chocks. But if they look like they will be more functional than a piece of timber, Ill buy them.

Hmm, I'm lucky enough not to have had a taxi or uber driver ask me how much I earn yet. Maybe the houses I've lived in look considerably sh*tter than your houses, so they don't bother asking me haha.

Some of the shutdown type contractors doing 4/1 rosters and crazy sh*t like that CAN earn the equivalent of that sort of money...but it's not necessarily consistent work, and definitely not sustainable. As Ralph said, professional roles in mining don't pay as much as people outside of the industry seem to think. We do tend to get better conditions and rosters though. Even then, there's definitely a bunch of the underground workers on my site who'd earn a whole bunch more than me, but they're the crusty dudes who have been stuck working underground working their way up for a decade or more. Base trucky wage on my site would probably work out to around $90k a year for working 2 weeks on (a week of night shift, then a week of day shift), 1 week off. And that's driving a f*cking truck up and down in complete darkness for 12 hours a day.

Yeh I have random moments but I don't like showing it as I then get expected to maintain that level of normality haha I dunno but negative is to easy and it's weird but why hate doing what we all have to do ( cept don cause broken and aged ) I'm that bloke on site who's usually singing and dancing around acting like it's friday 4:45 every day and people are like " why are you so happy " , why not is my answer People ring me and typically start with "how you going" My reply ... Living the dream buddy It's easy to be negative and it flows on but it's taken ages from when it got pointed out from an apprentice by all people why I was always on the negative side of things vs positive and I made a change The amount of times I get home and say I had a great day is well on the up over the typical "yeh chit normal crap day" What's to be negative about we live in Australia and we have jobs ( cept don cause won lotto ( shussss don't tell any one ) ) Even if it does get better than that it's still right up there as far as a life style goes especially compared to most other places

Had the pleasure of driving a friends SS Wagon again the other night as we all decided to go down the local park and let off the fireworks instead of doing it in the backyard. As most of you would remember, I have driven this commy a few times but in the past but its just been me in the car before but on nye there was me and 4 woman with me (I took the ss coz my car doesn't like 5 people in it even on ssl springs - plussss it has a few problems [emoji6] ). Johns car is the first of the VF SS models and loaded up with people it is very comfy on the road....... great suspension in the wagon. So me, being me, decided to floor it - you know, show off to the girls and all that - all the girls were squealing and laughing and having a great time while I had my foot flat but I was sooooooooo friggen bored. I can't believe how slow a big chev v8 is. I guess what I'm getting at here is Just put a tt kit on yours Jet and stop being a farken *beep* [emoji23] [emoji106] You know Dani wants it so happy wife...........................

You know you didn't have to pick the job you currently have hey You know you didn't have to pick the job you did have It's all by choice ladies and choose wisely as life is short We've all had to do stuff we didn't like but how long you let that carry on is up to only you My only ever semi complaint is being busy, but id prefer that to doing nothing so I like my choices and would do them again over I'd never CHOOSE to FIFO or go on missions to Afghanistan as I wouldn't like it so no matter how much $$$ is being paid why hate ya job If you can go to work and semi enjoy what you do you've made it in my book

Yeah k frame is sweet (not the smaller member most forwad of the vehicle ive seen some people damage)... I always roll a block of wood ontop of the jack as well just to stop little dints. As said drive car onto blocks of wood or caravan ramps or something first. My car is pretty low and I still do it without stands when im feeling lazy, jack car up enough on front passenger side to get at sump plug and filter, I do pop a stand under it while im underneath, should never be that lazy. Then I just drop it back to level to drain (need to position pan carefully..)

Sometimes I think so but if that was the case id drive a sensible hybrid camry or something lol There's a few turbo kits available on the market but I'm always after something different so I've had a really good fabricator put his hand up that will make me a kit that's all custom T304 stainless I need to pick a turbo to suit but as I said the wind has been knocked out of the wings with SA drag racing going down the toilet again with no track to race at Feels a little "whelmed" when you can have xxxrwkw and no where local to go have some fun at This ontop of big plans with customers car's that's keeping me crazy busy lately and they are more keen to travel the country to go racing than I am Must be getting old :( Just to show how little time I've had is the fact the wifey and I bought Two dirt bikes over 6 months ago and we've been out once for about two hrs The fuel has been in the tank so long it's gone off and I have to flush both of them out before I even kick them over next time Just cant get a break and when I do I need to actually stop to sleep or something crazy lol
