  1. Clutch is in thanks to Rob and Darren at Monsta Torque. For a big twin plate, with new AP CSC, its very light on the pedal... like really light!! Sofa king amazed at just how light it is and also the take up of it. Now for 300km this weekend on it, through the suburbs to hopefully get an E85 tune on it early next week... Hoping for good numbers, we've got a conservative number in mind so we'll see how it goes.

  3. Nice power Matty.. I hope all I tried to relay to was correct. I think its a brilliant conversion.. great bottom end Sixman..its a unit that increases spark voltage on based of boost pressure.. Herrod unit.. theres a thread over on AFF Afew guys are running the unit... Have a read.. I cant comment much more till its fitted I guess Supposed to be able to run standard spec spark gaps..hence increasing the size and intensity of the spark Cleaner and more consistat ignition and burn+ more power.. torque ?? Boost blows spark out..

  4. Large diesel engine can be run on dynos, that are specifically designed for diesel engines. Horsepower calculation is a product of torque. Large diesel engines may only rev to 500 or 600 rpm flat out, but produce massive amounts of torque. However I would think that the ocean going freighters and passenger liners engine horsepower would be a calculated figure, much like the Top Fuel Engine. The other issue with the top fuel engine is the rpm they spin them at, 8000 -9000 rpm. Most engines produce linear/progressive type power, however Top Fuel and Top Alcohol engines both produce explosive instant and progressive power/torque. The dyno's simply physically cant handle this type of punishment. Regards Dave.

  8. A couple oil and filter changes in a very short period is cheap insurance when you build hi po engines. 1000k oil change on a stock motor isn't such a big deal.

  9. I kind of hope not mate.. I'll just drive easy for a while and see what happens. I've done 100km on it this morning through the city... soo much clutching!! really glad its not heavy on the pedal. Noticed a coolant leak too, damned thing. Will rectify that this arvo. No doubt it was leaking before, I just couldn't see it because of the stock intake spaghetti.

  14. It boosts spark, prevents spark blow out and allows you to open up your plug gaps and get better fuel economy aswell. Theres a thread over at AFF

  16. my excess is the same as other years ben, I asked about it and increasing my excess by $200 only made the premium $50 cheaper, not worth it I reckon. I tried iselect and found it to be basicly useless.I have some minor cosmetic legal mods. after filling out the online details form they couldnt match me with anyone? you are better off speaking directly with insurance companies. what really sh*ts me is all the companies in australia are basicly owned by 2 or 3 companies (underwriters) eg: suncorp (dearest) owns aami (cheapest),aami underwrites justcars (legalised robbery).suncorp are one of the dearest nearly as bad as shannons who are under written by AAI (one of the other parent companies) your screwed no matter who you end up with.

  19. Great article Ryno, thanks for that. I race in modified bike (hopefully stepping up to group two in comp bike in September) and pretty much spend most of the time hanging out in the pits talking sh*t, but I'll always make the effort to go up and watch top fuellers or nitro funny cars at least a couple of times each meeting when they're on. If you've never been in the stands when these go past, you need to get down to the track and experience it. It's much more than just an aural experience.

  20. Fantastic night all. Great to meet you all and will definitely be seeing you all at future cruises. Next time I'll be ordering the parma, even if there's no way I'll be able to finish it I think we were all quite pleased with the efforts of the local Late model camira drivers - were at least 3 we came across who were making sure the police didn't even notice us Can't wait to see some of the pics Evil.

  22. I agree with FPV TRANNY, sell the car to a good mate for like $100, then attend court, upon which you can honestly tell the magistrate the car is no longer in your possession. Once the fine is passed down and your day in court is done, buy the car back for the same amount, and all should be well in the world again. Also, since he does have your history, if there are no drink driving offences, you can try and use that in your favor as well, saying to the magistrate that you can be slightly irresponsible at times, but never as bad enough as to drive under the influence of alcohol. All the best mate, hope it works out well! Where you located? I'll come cheer for you in court if you're in WA! Anything for a fellow car lover and FPV owner!

  24. Cheers wombat, It's crazy how much power they make, and an interesting fact I read today was that they are only roughly 8000hp, the true figure is unknown since there's no Dyno big enough to actually measure their power!! What a feeling that must be to drive that!

  27. Oops.. Haha So far so good guys. Just clicked over 500kms, it's so hard to load these up with this turbo it just whacks str8 round to 15lb. It makes 15lb at 2500rpm when in 4th going from 50kph. Been driving it reasonably hard but not too hard during the break in, plenty of load cycles. Been thru some nice hilly areas like a loop round bells line of road + some Galston runs too. 1st impressions of the new turbs is gr8.
