  9. Oh dear! http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/law-order/victoria-police-adjusts-mobile-speed-camera-rules-to-allow-cameras-to-be-concealed/story-fni0fee2-1226739895665 Vic government and police must be at their wits end trying to gouge the ordinary motorist. So my understanding with this new approach is that a speeding motorist will unknowingly get caught and continue speeding on his /her merry way .The previous approach, with unconcealed mobile speed cameras, had people slowing down when they saw a mobile speed camera. Police and Vic government would rather have people get caught speeding and thus feed the government coffers rather than have people slow down.

  11. nothing needed to be done regarding wheels and tyres, just used spare rim . Not going to bother with chassis check, if it is bent, so be it, I'm still keeping the car. Had the car checked out by knowledgeable people while car was on stands at home, should be fine.

  17. Thanks Geoff, its been nearly six mths again since ive driven it so will be good to get back behind the wheel, it'll be some type of monster this time. Im guessing around 6wks for completion as we have alot to do to it yet but we have everything bar the cams so it is just time now. We decided to run sensors in every runner on the exh manifold so 6boost have modified it to suite, just another little something to make sure all is well when we do decide to turn it right up. As for atomic I think they have some good parts, we're still using the rods, girdle, oil pump, balancer and anti pump lifters but as for the complete engines I wont comment any further

  18. Changing all three is generally the key - and having them installed correctly. If you fit the Super Pro comfort series there really shouldn't be an issue sine the diff is basically locked in. Most issues I see are due to only changing the rear centre bush. I ran them for quite a while in a manual and broke one bolt in 7 years

  23. Not without replacing them. Their symptoms are usually breaking down when under load. Regarding the flash tune, if your tuner uses SCT to tune and you buy an XCAL3, you will have the ability to transfer between the factory and custom tunes using the flash box. Best to stick with the original plan and take it to a reputable garage. Hopefully that's all it is just a coilpack or something cheap though

  25. Yes but all id's,kpm, xpurt, etc etc start off as Bosch ev14 1000's They take it and make it "better" U can buy the unmolested bosch ev14 1000's at mtq right now for a cracker price and modify it your self to make the next named 1000 but still be the base Bosch injector

Couldn't manage a better 60ft than 2.092 on streets but ran constant 1.7s on 255 x 17 mt's best was 11.72 @ 350rwkw with the spare the sound system and my 120kg arse so I was happy haha standard box minis flex plate. Lasted me nearly 100k and over 100 runs before it blew, and as in blew I mean flare to the point I almost couldnt make it up the slope of my street/driveway

  31. Today I test drove a VE GTS with Walkinshaw exhaust, intake and a camshaft upgrade, highstall converter and shorter diff gears, as I was considering selling my FG to get something faster and more responsive. The thing was ridiculously slow, could not even feel the car pulling even with all those mods, would just rumble and make noise and go nowhere, not sure if they are all like that but not really inspiring to drive. The Autobox was very lazy to shift into the correct gear, the car felt like it didn't know what it was doing half the time.

  33. Wow. And we thought the three strike rule in California was over the top. Hopefully if this does go through they get these extra prisoners working chain gangs in the sugar cane fields so tax payers get something back out of them. 15 years is a lot of tax payer money to keep them incarcerated not to mention the apparent loss of human rights for committing a minor crime.

  37. I should add that I wasn't actually trying to drift.. I was in a hurry and took a roundabout a bit faster then most people would in the dry and it had just started pissing down rain.. It was bad luck because where I went off I could have just slid into a clear grassy area.. Unfortunately I took the power pole right into the passenger side of my car.. So yeah.. No drifting was intended.. But it sure looked like it was intended to the lady behind me.. Or so she told the cops.. Plus most racetracks are a helluva lot wider than roads and no vehicles coming the other way..

  40. I don't understand why police carn't do their job solve crimes drink drivers etc work 8pm to 6am around night clubs and pubs get drink drivers off the road too busy working 9-5 giving everyone speeding tickets is a joke

  41. Or just grab another gear keep on sliding lol. Yeah et streets grip really well I've been running the same set for about 2000km ( a lot of those km have been on the freeway) and about 15 passes at the track and they're on the wear indicators now. You will tear them up a bit if the road surface is sh*t and you stand on it.

  43. It's a rort in WA and I can't believe we all support it. They're ALL hidden pretty much and they always talk about how it "prevents" people speeding in the dangerous locations they are situated. I lost my licence with less than 100kw and now haven't had one ticket in the xr6t after a year of driving it (30,000km+). They're mostly in x trails and VW vans luckily for us in WA. Only thing that sucks is people who park their x trail deliberately to replicate a speed trap. I have always supported police being present, I have never supported their tactics.

  44. The public, in general, feel safer as a community, when hi visibility policing occurs. If all the 'hoons'' for example, saw a HWP car sitting on a main road, doing speed checks, RBT, or ANPR, chances are they won't chuck a skid in a few klms time. And possibly a crim scoping out houses to break into, may find a suburb with a bit less po po attention. A unmarked kluger however, with no sign writing to state what it there for, only achieves one thing, revenue for the state government.
