Guest squinlan Guests Posted 16/12/03 01:20 AM Share Posted 16/12/03 01:20 AM Hi Guys,I have recently purchased an XR6T. I have 19" Advanti Babbina rims. I'm interested in lowering the car.Does anyone have 19" or 18" wheels that has successfully lowered their cars. I don't want to stuff the ride up or damage the rims.Any advice on where you had it done, how far you lowered it, what it costs and links to photo's of your lowered cars would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.Stuart Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/7992-lowering-19-wheels/ Share on other sites

They are progressive rate, and I still have a comfortable ride with 275/30 rubber on the rear.If you have wide rubber at the rear just check the offset of the rims, to ensure the tyre doesn't scrape .... I had to roll the rear guards a bit... but no drama.Brian Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/7992-lowering-19-wheels/#findComment-74431 Share on other sites

Posted 16/12/03 09:08 AM Share Posted 16/12/03 09:08 AM Dude you have my wheels!!!Yep, advanti Babbina 19's with Herrod lowered springs all round on my ute, I think the Herrod springs take it down 35mm. No problems at all. A little harsher ride, but to be expected with 30 profile tyres. I think you are generally limited to 245's for the front and I have 275's at the back. If you're in Melbourne you can come and have a look if you like (except for tomorrow when the cars at APS :clapyohands: FINALLY ) PM me if you would like to meet up for a look and a drive if you're in Melb'.pic attached Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/7992-lowering-19-wheels/#findComment-74593 Share on other sites

Herrod springs are good, recommend them. Didnt affect ride quality much. There is a picture of my bus in the Xmas cruise to Bundanoon, mine is the HgAg with the car bra. Id post a link but I dont know how!Cost me around $800 fitted and wheel aligned. This price also includes a camber kit. Guest cul08r Guests Posted 16/12/03 10:17 PM Share Posted 16/12/03 10:17 PM You will more than likely see my car in there too, a blood orange xr6t with 19" Advanti Chiles. I am running 245s front and rear, and had the car lowered with Kings springs yesterday. Kings manufacture the springs for Herrod, but the Herrod coils might be a bifferent rate. I am extremely pleased with the way the handling has improved, and the ride is not very different at all. They are also progressive. Cost was $635 fitted. Measurements hub to guard are now 330 front and 340 rear. The codes for the springs are KSKFFL - 57SL for the front, and KSKHRL - 68SSL for the rear. I fitted lows to the front and superlows to the rear, and now it looks nearly flat and drives ace. Where are you located?Andrew Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/7992-lowering-19-wheels/#findComment-74729 Share on other sites
