We constantly get complaints about the search function not working properly, but if you think logically and use the method below I guarantee you will find it works so much better than you think and will return an answer to your question straight away 9 times out of 10.

Step 1

The obvious one, in the top left of the page in the menu bar is the search button second from the left....Click It.

Step 2

Type a word associated with what your looking for, now this is the hard part...think about what your looking for take a minute or two and think of all the things that would also apply to the thing your looking for at the same time then add them either one at a time until you find what you looking for or add a couple and get a few more results.

Step 3

Make it easier to find choose the relevant forum in the box below for what the items is associated with.

(If it doesnt return a result revert it back to >>All Forums and try again).

Step 4

And the most important one of all!!

Make sure the "Search titles only" box is ticked.

Using it this way narrows the search but will return more relevant threads.

Hope this helps in some way....

Before I started this thead: http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...mp;#entry644216

I went to the search function, I typed in Code and selected the Car Audio section.

But it came back saying "U d*ckhead, u cant use those words" Or something along those lines.....

Give it a try.

my 2 cents, wouldn't it be wiser to make it NOT case sensitive?

This is possibly half the reason why some people get frustrated with the search function.

Or is it something that cannot be changed?

It's only the use of the word "code" as it's in the banned search list, most other if not all other words will not be case sensitive.

code

html

img

etc are on a banned list because of the amount of returns it would generate from being such widely used words in general html postings.

That alone solves all my problems, thanks Dags :tonguepoke:
