  1. With light fading I picked up the car today! Was starting to forget what boost is. 4 weeks apart, and still no claim number from the at fault mechanic. No courtesy call no nothing. I haven't paid an excess so hopefully it's all resolved. Haven't had it in proper light yet but so far so good, and best part is zero stone chips, along with no cop sticker shadow in the bonnet!
  2. They have submitted a claim finally! I believe I am dealing with the top of the chain already... I am insured comprehensive but don't have choice of repairer on my policy unfortunately or hire car. I am hoping to get these things from them and I think that's fair. Otherwise I would have just got my insurance to chase it sooner. I just need a claim number back now. I work in the car industry but must say this process is still an eye opener for me. My partner was nice enough to lend me her car for the run to uni last night, must say I do enjoy it around town! Pic from a weekend away
  3. Sounds very interesting, good to get some proper numbers. If things change and interested in B series stock manifold for comparison I would offer mine up (located NSW?). It's just collecting dust.
  4. Today is day 5 with no car. The sound of spool and push of boost are becoming a distant memory. I think the withdrawals start to set in from this point on. Today also marks day 5 with no insurance claim submitted by the workshop. They delayed and made me take the car to get a second quote on tuesday, and now have not had time to look at it since. So no claim number, no opportunity to chase a hire car, no nothing. I have been more than fair in my opinion, not carrying on when it happened, no facebook posts, no public name and shame of their shop, but they dont seem to care about me having no transport. Wish me luck comrades, I may be in the fetal position covered in sweat by the weekend..
  5. Hey bud my results very similar story to stever. BF2 sedan 6sp auto with 309rwkw ran a best of 11.7 with et streets. They got me a 1.7 60 foot which makes all the difference. Started life as a cop car too so might be a cop chip thing [emoji14]
  6. That damage looks wild phil. I bet it was a fun ride - driving customers or friends? My mate tim usually helps getting them done with his on car tool, so the arm doesn't have to come off. Reasonable job to do but unfortunately time issues and the fact that he lives 300km away led to me paying to get the job done. It seems like roadsafe had a bad batch go through, we have used them in past with ok results but not on my car. My uppers are still roadsafe and are fine touch wood. Your diy guides are always thorough well done I've read through before [emoji106]
  7. Thanks for the support guys. I took it to a panel shop I have used before for jobs on customer's vehicles through work so I'm glad I know a shop I can trust. Will post results in the coming weeks...
  8. The ball joint that started it all. First slight noise I noticed was 5 days ago. It got significantly worse over the week and approx 350kms until now. This has only been on the car 6months. https://vimeo.com/163794793
  9. Im just glad that I knew it was wrong immediately and stopped. If I continued down the street it could be a very different story at 50kmh instead of 5kmh
  10. Exactly right, whole point was to avoid that sort of issue... Trying to keep calm at the moment. But I'm f*cking pissed. First time it's had work done by a shop in pretty much ever. Their insurance will be paying. Got one quote but the mechanic has requested a second. Quarter is stuffed, door is damaged, bonnet needs a spray, front bar is stuffed, can't remember what else. Think they said brake rotor (landed on that), rim is all scored up on the inside, swabar bracket bent, wheel studs stripped etc etc I didn't get a pic from the front when it was on the ground. There's already a jack under it in all the pics except the first, which was taken by me in front passenger seat when it happened. Had to climb out the back door.
  11. Well another front left ball joint has failed, after only being in there 6 months. Roadsafe brand won't be going in my car again. In a rush to replace it with genuine I booked with a local workshop. This way I'll be able to claim warranty if another one fails, and gets me back on the road fast. They fitted me in at short notice and got the job done, paid. I went to leave and immediately noticed a bad noise in front left. Pulled up walked back into the shop and got the mechanic to drive it and check. Then this happened. New ball joint - tick 5 wheel nuts not done up - tick He was at the wheel at the time. So it's in for an insurance repair now.... [emoji35]
  12. Having worked in a few dealerships over the years I would suggest a few things. Ensure that you highlight the fact that there were issues previously with the car which you reported and tried to rectify but couldn't be diagnosed. If they were within warranty period that is important (sounds like the first vibration issue was back in warranty period?). If you have a complete and exclusive ford dealer service history they may help out a bit with costs. They don't have to but may if you are lucky. Hopefully you can work something out with them to reduce the cost somewhat, but obviously you will still be up for a fair bit of money. Rest assured once it's fixed you should have a fresh engine and new lease of life with your beloved car-dont need to sell it after its repaired!
  13. Thanks guys. Well nothing broken at the drags no records broke either though :( Have to admit I was off for the night. Stuffed up a couple of launches, then got launch right twice but messed up gear changes (limiter etc) and the car was pretty warm. About 35deg ambient temp at start of night, still in the 30s when packing up. All in all pretty disappointed, best I ran was around 12.0 at 117mph with some wheelspin and a goofed up short shift. Dont think the heat would have let me run too quick anyway. Ahh well, next time..
  14. The PW cooler is in and has been doing time for a while now. Happy with it so far but drags and dyno will be the proof. I took a couple of pics to compare the two, but ultimately they are a pretty similar size, hard to tell but the PW3 is slightly larger external size. A couple of pics of the inside for anyone who is interested: Rapid Vs Process west There have been a couple of strange readings on the vac guage so had to fill manifold with compressed air and found the fuel vapour purge line (hard plastic) was split. This now blocked off and the car is driving well. I think the gauge is still playing up but the plan is Wednesday night drags, if anyone else is there come say hi!
  15. Well the stars may just align for me this Wednesday hopefully - anyone else be at the drags? If so come say g'day always up for a chat (unless I break it) !
