On this subject mate; you check ignition timing with a light. In short, it'll flash a light in time with cylinder one and that'll correspond with a mark on the harmonic balancer. Cam timing is different and is checked manually with marks or a number of links on the timing chain vs marks on the cam gears and in the falcons case the crankshaft sprocket.
