Is it worth it? Changing 4 speed to 6 speed, how much re wiring is there to do?

Long story short, I recently was in an accident and wrote our XR6 BF Turbo ZF 6 speed off! We bought it back and will be again taking part in another build!

Found a great tidy BF II XR6 07 model but it is an Auto 4 speed for some reason, and have been thinking its still well worth swapping most mods over but the only drama would be how much effort is it to put the ZF in this 07 model?

Love to have some feedback please! Been too long since I've even been on this web page

have a good read of this thread ->

it'll give you a good idea on how difficult it is to do that sort of job work.

I think the new car he brought was a NA and he was aware of this, looks like he said he brought a BF II XR6 07 no mention of it being turbo. considering he crashed his turbo before he has potentially made a sensible but boring move back to NA ;)

Nah haven't bought anything yet but have found some XR6's to become a donor shell I guess you could say, I wouldn't want to waste cash on another turbo when I managed to buy back the written off turbo with most of the mods in working order!

Thanks that's some great info mate! I think in the long run its better to look for another ZF XR6 so most of the wiring is already done! cheers

Its devastating still to see but I'm still alive!
