Oil catch can installation

Hi guys new to the forum. I've been wondering how to connected up a oil catch can to my xr6t, I just tried to put up a pic but cant seem to post 1 so is there any out there that can help. Thanks

A catch can is there to filter oil from the crank case gas as it is returned to the intake. It can also catch oil and return it to the sump in a racing application.

 

Without being too picky, that diagram shows the right connection but it looks like that nob on top could indicate a filter which would be moot if the catch can is connected to the intake.

 

Edit: You need to connect the rear vent too otherwise the motor will still be sucking in crankcase gas.

If you weren't returning it to the intake then you would have a filter on top to let the crankcase pressure escape. It's not a lot of pressure in a road car but it would probably pop your dipstick out if it wasn't relieved.
