Hey boys.  In 2 weeks time im going to have a go for my first time at my local drags. Just wondering if there's any tips to launching and getting the power to the ground without to much wheel spin. I have a 335kw auto bf and just have some cheapo semi slicks. I know the old trick of the brake/handbrake to build up revs but even I mash the loud pedal it just spins way to much to move anywhere. Any help is appreciated ?

I can't launch on the road with much more than a few psi without losing traction.

You'll just need to keep practicing to find the sweet spot for your car.

If you can't take off at full throttle then use less throttle. Modulate it according to the boost curve. It's not an on/off switch. :)

I know what I said sounds obvious but practice is key.

Drag launching/racing etc has been spelt out several times around the forum but at the end of the day if you don't practice and experiment with your car then you won't get better at it.

No amount of reading can replace experience.

with regard to launching a ZF with 275 MT's (or other sticky semi-slicks):

Left foot hard on brake, pull handbrake on, push throttle until it starts to creep a tiny bit, back off throttle a tiny bit so that it settles still and build as much boost as you're willing to hammer through the tailshaft... Then simultaneously drop the handbrake quickly, let off the brake and ease the throttle to 100% to minimize/prevent wheelspin. Experiment based on surface :spoton::3gears:

While that may work at the strip it usually won't work on the road. It'll spin the tyres most of the time.

I know op asked for drag racing tips but I think it's important to make a distinction as he's obviously practising on the road right now.
