I've swapped a complete sedan turbo engine, loom and ecu into a standard ute and have a problem with an airbag light. After investigation with an IDS, its been recommended to put a resistor in somewhere on the side curtain airbag to increase resistance due to not having enough or something. I've done this before on other vehicles in the UK but really want someone who knows what they're doing to complete this stage of work.

Has anyone every swapped a turbo sedan engine, loom and ecu into a ute done this before or can anyone recommend anyone please? I'ts been almost 2 years and I can't find anyone who has had to go through this yet. I'm almost at the point of putting it back to standard to get it re registered and then swap it back later but I want to do it right.

Thanks heaps for any advice you can give me.

well, an IDS/WDS will give you all of the information required (in theory). Any auto-elec should be able to fool the system to tell it that it has an airbag when it actually doesn't, if that's what the system is looking for.

Good luck :)
