I have an BF mk2 turbo with 250rwkw atm is it worth chasing the extra 50? Engine has just over 200 000 and the auto is slightly worn. I drive about 400kms a week but I will need it to last for awhile. Fuel economy is still reasonable. Is it worth it?

EDIT: lol I just did a search there is a couple of threads on it, pretty old though see what you guys think now. Thanks

absolutely :spoton:  make sure the tuner handles everything and not just WOT and if you're reasonably careful with it, it'll be fine :3gears:

Your car should be fine providing there are no underlying issues.

Modifying cars is never worth it financially. If you want the extra power then do it but at the end of the day it's money you'll never get back.

In saying that I'd do it cos POWWAAAAHHHHHH :launch:

I'll start with questions.

Whats done to the car atm?

To reach 300ish rwkw u will need a set of injectors, new cooler, waste gate upgrade, exhaust, flapper mod, valve springs.

U wont get change out of 6k.

Though u will also get more then 300rwkw...... u can have a daily tune at 300rwkw or less if u want, and a higher tune for those fun times.

Waste gate and flapper mod shouldnt be required at those power/boost levels but put money aside just incase you need to

As far as power goes is 320 your main goal or will you want more later? If 320kw is the goal then get mods that will suit 400kw so that your not pushing things to close to the edge.

What are the early signs or worrying signs of wear in the 6 speeds. Its has a new convertor.

Yea, has the injectors done lol.

Has a cooler, tune, injectors, K&N filter and 9 pound of boost from Autotech. Only needs cat, fuel pump, tune and 12 pound actuator for 300 I've been told. It's in QLD now though. Trying to keep it as stock as possible I.e. no 4 inch exhausts etc. Its the 07 model.

Perhaps you could get away with a lesser psi actuator as you'll only be running a few psi over what that actuator will do and it might cause early boost spiking.

@JETURBO would be one of the dudes who can comment on this better than me.
