Hey guys, new to this. Just wondering if anyone could help me. I got a 2008 fg xr6T and recently the performance modes not working. When I switch to perf mode, on the dash it stays on "D" instead of "PERFORMANCE" and the shifters dont work to change gears. Also when I turn my car off and open my door it beeps and says "TRANSMISSION NOT ON PARK". Is this a transmission issue? The car still drives and reverse fine though.

In the gear selector is a small magnet that goes over little sensors to tell the computer your going into performance mode

Maybe one of those has fallen out or miss aligned

It may not be your solution but I did have this problem with mine

Pretty easy to pull the centre console out and have a look around

Could have spilled a drink around there and it's in a plug

to test- give it a knock with a hammer a few times (theyre pretty robust) and see if it fixes it. I started to replace mine but couldnt get the locking pin out of the shaft. I hit the end with a pin punch but stuff me it wouldnt move. so I spat the dummy and gave up. its worked like a charm ever since :sarcastichand:
