I bought a fg xr6 turbo ute mk1 (71xxxkms) about a month ago and although the stock feels very fast, I am already keen on modding it. First up is a custom tune but im just wondering if there's any pre requirement I need to do before I take it to the shop. I'm changing the oil and coolant next week but if there's anything else I could do, would be gladly appreciated (I'm a noob at the modding scene :P) I took it to D'anello performance today and the car will be tuned in about a month. Cheers

Intercooler piping and/or intercooler is the next step to be more repeatable with results. If you want just a tune, that's fine, too. Just do a generic check-over of all of the parts on the car before taking it to a tuner. Make sure the coils and spark plugs are fine, make sure there's no oil or coolant leaks, clean the intake tract and ensure the O2 sensor(s) are in reasonable condition/performance. A general check up will do then! thanks for the reply

Do it once, do it right (up to a point! ) If your using sct perhaps the tuner can put a couple of tunes in with different boost levels that you can download as you get used to the lower boost level!
