Why would they rush - miners are keeping prices at better than retail on stuff they recoup long ago.

They'd be stupid to put something new out til the demand started falling.

The 1080TI is a ridiculously good mining card, not saying its economically viable to mine with but from my mates experience it's hashrate was more than what two decent AMD cards he has in his mining rig could do.

Some probably know I'm into my headphones and VSS  - virtual surround (basically making headphones sound like real speakers)

Have got a shitload of headphones, amps, DACs, gadgets etc to play with

Have got a Smyth Realiser on order for when they are released and am tipping that thing is going to be the "be all and end all" for a fixed home setup.

Audeze, an expensive and legit "serious" headphone company (have got a set of their LCD-2's) have announced a new product that seems to be the next best thing.

Not expecting any/many to understand, but if interested it's available cheaper as a pre-order

The head tracking to me is the killer - as good as the other stuff I have is, it's the link I've been missing.

If you've ever played with dolby headphone, SBX, Astro, surround headphones etc before this maybe the one to actually do it properly.

Not pushing them on anyone, but if interested in this stuff, the pre-order price maybe something you want to get onto.

(nothing to do with me - no kickbacks etc - just saying)

33 minutes ago, Rab said:

@bloodycrashboy will appreciate it - he already has one in service

no longer "in service"

siting on the shelf gathering dust

maybe I should sell it on E bay along with the water block I bought from Germany

could net myself about $400 or $500

As that video says @Rab, the GTX 690 is a beast, there's just not the optimization for quad SLI, but even SLI sucks

I found as time went by, with every driver update I encountered problems

to the point I bought a GTX 1080, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :wwww:

as far as the power draw mentioned in that vid

My power supply is a Cooler Master 1300 watt unit that has a 120 mm fan that only operates when power draw is over 50% (I think)

Running the GTX 690, fan would always run when gaming

with the 1080, fan has NEVER run!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Send the guy a message - he may want to try sextuple sli ;)

Memory and move towards single card is the crippler - hardware has overshot applications - used to be the other way round.

Very annoying mate. I lose power about once per month here.

The last time I checked you had to give your right nut in exchange for about 5 minutes of run time from power loss.

Just ordered an APC 1000VA unit.

Hopefully will keep the server and network going for at least an hour, maybe 2 - enough time to finish what I have to and save everything.

Most outages here are less than an hour.
