Dudes & Dudettes,

I have replaced my diff bushes to superpro comforts and since doing it my diff is singing its tits off at all speeds and gears, so it time to do something about it. It has a heap of backlash in it.

What options should I consider? Just a rebuild and get the gears lapped and reset up or is this a waste of time? I know the trutrac is an option but not keen to spend a fortune is there is another option.

The car is a auto BA MKII Turbo with 100,000kms on it. Running 11psi.

Let your knowledge spew forth!! :)

Well, stock re-conditon/rebuild is obviously the cheapest option. Get a quote, see if you're happy with that.

Could also be incorrectly fitted bushes, already broken/torn bushes, backlash could be explained by tailshaft centre bearing...

Hey are you sure those 100,000ks are legit?

only asking cause it ain't hard to swap a cluster and I'd think a diff would go more like 200,000km+

You're probably up for about a grand to get the diff done I believe? definitely get an opinion from a diff specialist and or a tailshaft shop.

According to my odo they can go 304,000+ km with a bit of abuse and fluid changes...but it is a bit noisy and clunky.  Still lays down the 320rwkw pretty damn well though I gotta say!

Also running SP comforts (but soon to change to the Independent Motorsports Diff Hat Upgrade, awww  yeeeeahhhhhhhh)
