My Bf Xr6 Na Engine With Turbo

Recommended Posts

So car got a dyno run to check things out has it had a very lite rattle under boost sometimes... think I've found the problem.

Walbro 460 intank, fuel pressure is good. Cars going in for a retune Monday so hoping the engine is okay d0cfe11d484cdb13267ff5b46c887ac3.jpg

Also made this with a mate at work lol b620c01aa4aee3ebdbeddb0f37d09840.jpgc3ef7e872e408a542d63713752f403d8.jpg

That won't help with detonation being that lean. Might be worthwhile chucking a bore scope down the plug holes and checking the pistons if it has been like that for a while?

LOLWUT

40 pulls for that graph :ermm:

yeh nar that's a less than desirable power curve especially with a ZF

Stock, Non turbo ZF as well lol

Its better than it was, it feels better and the zf is alot happier than its ever been. My cars ecu has no control over the boost at all, its all controlled by the eboost. Whether that makes a difference on how its tuned or not I have no idea but id expect it to have some impact on the power curve and how the car is tuned.

Zf is coming out in a month or so anyway for exedy friction discs, new pump, actuators and input shaft plus new diff

Tuning done by capa..... So it's a generic tune then ?

Soooooooo

Yes it was a generic tune....

New Plazmaman cold side piping going on, shortened tailshaft and 3.46:1 LSD

Lots of stuffing around lolc2a90b9e825d5cab20f001d6f8f0f8e4.jpg67b3c858c3cb4b7098bee23e1c92be5e.jpgffbc2bf76894a259c03760913c857f40.jpg

Car is all back together. Been for a wheel alignment and for a test drive. Completely different car, alot more responsive and just wants to fry tyres. AFR's around 11.5:1 so tune is fine, the ZF gearbox is coping extremely well, especially for a non turbo box. Very surprised!! 6a5c2043a72e3937e144d0f411279a6d.jpg

Need one of these mate

And no an Eboost even with no RPM reference can still be set up to deliver a much cleaner power generation display that that graph above ;)

see....

I've been looking at the Harrop diff cover.

I was looking at getting the rpm signal for the eboost but wasn't sure where to start. I need a retune anyway, I can't get traction the boost comes on too fast and the nee diff ratio doesn't help.

There comes a point where you can't just floor it and go and expect it to hook up. It all comes down to throttle control man. In a turbo car you floor it to get the boost on, then just as it's about to go nuts you back off a smidge then floor it again.

With this method I manage to get all kinds of traction...all kindzzz.

@Xr6123 this is what a generic tune is. Please take the advise given and take your car to a pro.
