Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Gonna need to cover the North side (the way the car is facing) with rocks to stop erosion since it's raised up about a meter from ground level on the NW corner...but that's cool we can put in some cool steps (leading down to the race track)

Also love the lush looking garden there bloodycrashboy. Hopefully my missus can work some magic to give us a nice garden like she plans to. I'm going to push for native bush type plants as much as I can, but it's really her garden. I'd have been happy in the burbs.

Pics of collapse?

Dudes. Don't get me wrong. The gardens do looks great.

But f*ck palm trees. f*ck them right to hell.

My gardens are restricted. I cant plant any trees at the back of the house thanks to the bush fire rating.

Blocks and back fill. Its didn't look that bad. I think it could be a money making scam. Plus its all rock as you can see.

This shows you the height of the garage wall a little better with the excavator.

Awwwwwwwww yeah

Big things happening! Shots from this arvo:

And finally what I actually did myself, the first thing I've done to my house! Big moment. Connected water pump so the slab pouring crew on Monday can get access to water (I'm told what we have now is just footings).
Only f*cked up 3 times as well hahaha. Minor stuff like forgetting to reinsert the pin that holds the top on the pump and not slipping the ring cap over the hose BEFORE pushing on the barbed fitting...

A very slow leak remains at the outlet from the tank unfortunately. I redid it with more nylon tape but only managed to slow it to a drop every 10 seconds or so. Annoying but my hands were fed up and it got late. Don't wanna close the outlet valve in case a tradie goes to run the pump without checking if it can draw water.

Well worst day ever and as I said in above post I feel sick.

This morning I dropped the kids off at school and thought Ill go up and mow the grass at the back seeing no one has been there all week but to my surprise they were on site with the excavation cutting more away at the bottom to allow room for the block work and at the front for the steps to the front door.

I did what I need to do took some pics and left. about 45min later I get a call from my builder asking for me to return.

I get there get out pf the car walk on up and the first thing I see is that part of the wall has collapsed and whilst standing there looking at it more fell away bring the next door neighbour fence. OH YOU'RE F*#KING KIDDING ME!!

Builder tells me that the engineer is on his way to access. He also said that its happen because of a slip face/rock, if that makes sense.

After many hours they thinking of core drilling 6 holes and place timber in between each core hole followed by shotcrete with wire that part of the wall.

Now I ask why is it up to the home owner (ME) to pay for it as they should have done it right from the start and supported the wall, this would of never happened. So im guessing that Ill be putting the G6ET and the van up for sale now just to cover the cost.

Here is some photo lots.

Fark steve, I though you would have made sure that underground, you would have this huge garage/man cave for working on the car.

The ground level would be for the dinning+living+kitchen+study room.

The 1st level would be all the rooms.

What sort of dream house is that mate? That is an impressive water tank, for only 180 smackers..... :P

that's what I think it should have been supported before anymore work but no, trying to do it on the cheap and now it cost me. TOTAL BS!

Do you think its worth fighting for?

Good stuff Steve and Mrs Steve for putting her mark on the slab.

Big slab what size is it? What's with the plumbing in pic one on the edge of the slab, not straight and not inside the slab?

I have an update from my end.

All work has stopped, site is now closed. Work Cover paid a visit today and closed the site down because of unsafe working conditions.

No work can be carried out until a Engineer and Geo Tech report is done.

The work cover man was nice and knew the street because of an incident about 7 years ago he said when a young labourer died whilst working on some units feel about 6m and hit his head.

that's something I do not want to happen with my build.

Good attitude. Christ though I hope things don't turn into a massive clusterfk on you Pixy. Seems to be heading that way :/ Going to court would be sh!t.

Yeah no idea what that wonky pipe is for, it's just 3 bedrooms on that corner, no plumbing. The bathroom for those rooms is on the right of that same pic, with the rough cutouts in it.

Thanks guys appreciate the support.

There is nothing I can do from my side of things. I paid a builder to do the work so its in his hands.

I am waiting for him to try a flog the bill my way but guess what mate Im not paying a cent. I told the excavation mob that today that im not paying to fix someone else mistake, they didnt say much.

Its there f*@k up and has nothing to do with the scope of work to the house.

Finger crossed this is it and nothing else holds us up.

Just be careful dude. There is usually a provision in the contract to claim if they encounter unsuitable material during excavation.

All well and good to say 'f*ck him' but at the end of the day this dude is building your house so at least hear him out. Don't want him offside before the slab is even started.

Totally agree It's not even the builders fault and I dont blame him, its the excavation company for not waiting for the engineer to turn up and went ahead and started to excavate more causing the issue we have now.

One of the Bosses workers told me yesterday that he is to old school and just doesn't give a f*#k, it shows.

I did my WHS Construction Certificate yesterday or called White Card in NSW.

So I can go on site with worrying about workcover turning up again.

Pretty much nothing happened last week. Monday and Today all the steel work is being done for the garage fall and walls. Pics to come later.

Bricks were said to be getting delivered yesterday to mine. Haven't been up there yet, supposed to wait until the better half finishes up work in the country town and go see it together, arg.

I got the By-Law written by a lawyer for approval by the owners corp at our AGM in January.

It basically gives me a right to use and build in the roof space (common area) and indemnifies the other owners of any future maintenance costs etc.

I went to a pre DA consultation at Council and they said they have no issues.

Fingers crossed (as I'm $2500 down already) the other owners give approval like they said they would in conversations I've had.
