I meant by just how awful it looks and how non-functional it appears, combined with the price, is what makes it rich people's furniture...

fluff have you tried sitting on a couch with a very low back on it before?

Yeah but it doesn't have a low back hahahah

The hardest part is having a mix of entertaining functional and comfy for watching Tv of the evenings.

We were looking at modulas but it's odd to me sitting on the same couch as your guests. So two 2.5 seaters seem more practical.

This is roughly what our downstairs lounge will look like layout wise but a little larger and mirror imaged.
It has glass door on both sides and a built in tv unit in a bulk headed area

we had fake leather couch before. after 10 years I took it from mums and it delaminated itself in 6 months once I had it at my place.

I dont like leather, yes good for kids and spills etc but too fkn cold and slippery.

we went for a kinda rough textured couch this time. love it.

and def spend the money on good couch, the quality of the foam is what makes it.

the mother in law has a cheap couch, after a few months the foam has collapsed and I can now feel the timber in the frame when I sit on it. soooo sh*t
