Make My Exhaust Louder

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys, just got an Xforce 3.5 inch cat back exhaust installed on my FG xr6turbo and it doesnt sound as loud as I thought it would. What would be the best way to make it sound louder?

I dont wanna go drilling holes in my exhaust. The last thing I want to do is f*ck the exhaust right up. Im after the more sophisticated way to make it louder. Mate suggested getting a different muffler or removing the rear muffler altogether. Just want to get a second opinion. Would removing the rear muffler with a straight pipe make a difference in the sound?

Change it to much and it may drone like a bitch

For me the quietest exhaust that makes the most power is a win win

That said I have Nizpro 4 inch which isn't exactly quiet. But it's not overly loud

SMB 4" front and 3.5 rear section + tuned J pipe = Murder when on the noise and no drone when cruising.

Vids required :)

Yeah. I have to agree. My preference is for the quietest exhaust that makes the power. The guys at Ferrari and AMG have it down to a fine art - some of their exhaust notes are absolute magic. The HSV V8's sound pretty good with their muffler flaps opened. The BMW M3 sounds very nice too - nicer than my 3.5 inch system that sounds more whooshy than barky (technical terms here). My cousin was driving mine as I followed behind in his Yaris and that gave me a good idea of the exhaust note from outside the car. The worry with any noisy system is that it will more than likely attract UNWANTED attention.
