Hello

I'm about to buy either a G6ET or XR6T in about 5 months time. Considering they're the same price, which one would you choose and WHY? Also, is the G6ET slower than the XR6T to 100km/hr because the lack of LSD? From what I have gathered on other sites, there is not much of a difference.. but the only difference is racing around a track and hanging 'better skids'.

- PS, I don't intend on racing around a track or skidding, so would LSD really make that much of an impact in everyday driving? I would give it a go if a Expensive Daewoo SS/GTS or anything else tried to overtake me though.

Thaks

Welcome mate.

You need to ask what is your mine purpose and what you really want/like.

Both cars are a muchness in performance, running the same motor.

It doesnt take much to turn a G6ET into a XR6T just change Diff and Suspension. Do you want an Auto or a Manual? Manual XR only Auto Both.

I have a G6ET becuase I like to look and I got more options in the G6ET that are standard and an extra in the XR.

If I was to buy again I stll would go with a G6ET much nice ride.

Let us know what you get and remember we want pics.

EDIT - stock you have no chance against a GTS.

Hello Pixy Angel

I'd really like a nice cruiser that goes hard if a holden/ricer rocks up next to me comfortably. I currently drive a NA BA.

Manual or Auto?

I know the G6ET come only in manual, but since the ZF is a killer of a gearbox and is smoother and faster then I think I'll go auto.

What lets down the G6ET? just the bigger brakes/lack of LSD?

Imo given they are about the same price, the extra options in the g6et far out weigh the LSD.

For example its much easier to install an lsd on a g6et than it is to get memory seats and mirrors working in a xr6t. Given a majority of us change the suspension, xr's included. Its hardly a selling point.

Barnz, that is a point I was looking for.

A point that stands out from the one another.

thanks heaps!

How much approx to install a LSD? is it worth just getting a truetrac? how much is that too>? :)

that's what im saying its easier to change diff, suspension.

The G6ET's are a good sleep and when tuned even better.

Truetrac about 2k I think

Take a look in the G6ET thread

Trutrac is the go, putting a std xr6 lsd in is really only worth it if you can do it yourself, if your paying somebody to do it, you will end up a few hundred bucks off a trutrac installed, for a 2nd hand diff. Not really worth it.
