It has a hydrometer :) come up all green once the voltage came up to spec. :)

EDIT: hard to get a decent photo, but this is the hydrometer with my torch attempting to get enough light without reflecting too much off the plastic surrounding the hydrometer :)

The dot your talking about is only reading one cell...

Green means that cell is at 2volts

The other 5 cells are not known

I also meant Hydrometer that shows specific gravity in a number

I got a better photo :) Here's the "what the hydrometer means" and what the hydrometer shows (better camera this time)

True... it is just one cell :) but I'm being fairly optimistic haha

It can definitely Bounce back and be fine, but usually a few load cycles and it will be cactus

I have tried it many times, used to manage a fleet of trucks and we were always trying to get extra life out of the battery's

The car that it's been in has hardly been through many full cycles and was on a trickle charger for who knows how long before I bought the car.

fingers crossed! haha

when I gather up the time/courage I'll chuck the battery back in and try Luke's suggested cranking technique and see how it goes... he did say I need a bigger battery charger to "bring it straight back" but I don't have one and I don't want to try it until I get hold of one, unless somebody can confidently say I'd be OK to re-charge it slowly like I did with this recovery in the first place...

Western side. It's not urgent, anyway... the car's going nowhere for the moment no matter how healthy the battery is :) Thanks for the offer, though.
