It is time for a new car it seem! I managed to take the front off my car by smearing it along some Armco railing as I was sliding down the road sideways at 70kph. Swerved to avoid a car that pulled into my lane, wet roads and within a microsecond, I was no longer pointing in the intended direction.

The car is a statutory write off as the chassis rails have been bent and in the eyes of the insurance company, is not economic to repair so I have bought the wreck from them. Damn shame as it was a fantastic car, running 310rwkw, 106K on the clock and never missed a beat. It has not even been back to Ford for warranty work or repair (if there is such a thing as warranty on a modded car), nothing ever went wrong apart from diff bushes however, that was more of a excessive torque issue. If I can get another car as good as this one, I will be happy.

The pic is how it finished up with the exception of the HDI cooler which was shredded and hanging off by one bolt. Still driveable with the exception of having somewhat of a leaky radiator!

Now it is a case of working out what to do with the wreck. it is 90% good so I suspect I will tear it down and either keep the modded parts for the next car or whether I go for something totally different. Have been thinking about a RS4 if I can get the budget to extend that far!

Very sad day.......

Full on. As always the main thing is - are you ok? No whiplash injuries or anything from the sounds of it, just a rough way to stop the car?

Engine transplant? :)

Agreed, hope you're ok bud, sucky thing to happen :(

Yeahhhhhh I've always had a soft spot for EF/EL, not so much the wagons though. I wanted an EL XR6 for my first car. Would love to drop a FG turbo motor (or a Miami!) into one, do the thing fully up, coilovers, brakes etc. Would be mean!

All fine, very minor shunt as the car dragged along the armco, it was very soft from a passenger perspective. No airbag deployment.

Decided to buy a complete car so this one will be turned into lots of parts over the next month if I can find the time to get my act together. Will probably drop a lot of the parts into the classifieds or ebay.

Apart from the obvious, the car has:

Custom Ammon leather (dark grey)

6 Speed manual

Ace heavy duty clutch and billet flywheel

60lb injectors

GFB Stealth electronically controlled BOV

400 cell Cat

Bigmouth Growler CAI

Intercooler (didn't survive) some of the pipework did.

Koni adjustable shocks

Heavy duty springs all round, (not lowered)

Towbar

Reversing camera and sensors

Bits that didn't survive
The front!!!

The bootlid

The tail lights

All other panels are fine.
