Very surprised you have businesses who have said its fine An 8" rim (which should measure at 9") is 228.6mm according to Google. You have fit a 265mm (probably closer to 270-275mm cause wide tyre design).....so you would have a good 20mm+ hanging off each side of the rim? Must have chunky looking sidewalls....I would be scared of peeling the tyre off the rim when going fast around a corner lol but pics are needed!!!!!
