I'm currently working with the developer to make some changes and improve the app, I'm going to test another version tonight - I'm hoping he will publish it on the play store. Once that is done, the hardest part will be making the cable - something that I am unwilling to help with as it was a total PITA!

But the cable needs to be made as per this thread on XDA:

https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2220108

Unfortunately it needs to have a micro-usb connection to send the data and the audio is sent separately, so my spare phone is sitting in the centre console with a micro-usb connection and 3.5mm connection - it's more of a proof of concept right now. Once I get it to a reliable state, I'm going to look at tidying the cabling and possible change the 3.5mm audio connection to use a bluetooth to 3.5mm adapter. (If that makes sense).

I mean I wont be making the cable for anyone, but I can answer any questions about it.

I ended up using an old iphone 3GS that I had lying around in my FG F6.  Just use it as a sort of music file hard drive ...  Doesn't seem to interfere with making and receiving mobile phone calls over Bluetooth with my regular Samsung S6+ Android
