Phillip Island is one of the best tracks for general admin tickets

Can walk the whole track and can just about always see 3 different corners

Plenty of spots close to track so you can really appreciate how fast they are moving

I used to love watching them in the 90's - as they come out of Siberia there would be a huge "wobble" as they went into the straighter bit. Looked so scary and exciting.

Feels friggin awesome to actually ride round the track and work out that you get the exact same "wobble" - direction change and gear change and it actually feels natural - isn't scary at all.

The height change through Lukey is also something you don't get a sense of on telly - they're going flat knacker over the crest of a hill that is totally blind on the other side - 2nd only to the corkscrew at Laguna Seca as far as I'm concerned.

The dipper at Bathurst would come third.

Totaly love Lukey Heights

We had grandstand seats at Lukey Heights in 06 (I think)

Be prepaired for every sort of weather!!!!!!!

Friday, so cold we wore all we had and huddled together to keep warm.

Saturday, heaps warmer but still a bit cool

Race day, so bloody hot we had to hide from the sun under the grandstand between races

Dont be put off a grandstand seat, from the Lukey stand you can see a good half of the track, maybe more

We had that all in the same day at the supers around that time too - we took a tarp to shelter from the rain under - we ended up sheltering from the sun under it.

I've always (and still do) say when I'm on the bike:

Extreme wind, rain or cold - any 2 of them and I'm happy. all 3 at once and I'm not

With Bonneville speedweek cancelld for the second year in a row, the Southern California Timing Association (SCTA) arranged to have an event at the Mohave Mile instead, which is an airstrip, mainly for all the international competitors whose bikes and cars are already there.

My friend here, Evelyne Scholz, already a multi SCTA and FIM record holder is one of them.

Shs chasing the naked bike record which is 190 something mph on the salt with her 315hp turbo intercooled GSXR.

Shes been doing well on the bitumen and sneaking up on the 200mph barrier.

Obviously the runs dont count as records, but shes there anyway. Living the dream.

The Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials look like theyre still on though so hopefully she can push that record out.

We plan to be on the salt at Bonneville in 2017.

I dont want a record, just a 200mph Club hat.

We got virtually nothing like that here in WA.

I lived in Perth in 87, had a crappy Katana 1100, and later a yamy rz 500. Can remember mundering weir as the best twisties close by.

Wife says, all she can remember is great eastern hwy?

It actually made more hp in Perth but Salt Lake City is high altitude.

You can see the ice box under the seat for intercooling. Its funny watching her use a broom handle to ram two bags of ice in there hahaha.
