Cool Stuff You Recently Built - Not Cars

Recommended Posts

The old sleeper retaining wall gave up the ghost so decided to bring it closer to the boundary so I can finally build the man cave :) That's happening in a couple of weeks but here is the wall I built on my own this week. 725 blocks! Backfilled by hand - nearlly killed me, lol.

The slight kink is about where the shed finishes. 7m x 3.5m x 2.7m (H).

Both pics are good work.

I did an exposed path, new fence, some rendering, dodged up a retaining wall and threw some pebbles in, now it's up to the mrs to pretty it up with some plants.

Yes, all approved SDP.

Nice.. Council is a bitch with things like that sometimes.. Big believer of the 'If you bought the land you shouldn't need approval to build on it'

I agree to an extent it's necessary.. Especially to ensure that it's going to be designed and built correctly.. But minor works things like car ports/retaining walls etc can cause alot more headaches then they are worth..

But back on topic.. that's a frikkin awesome job for doing it yourself Bomber! I couldn't of done that..

and a garage

and a wall made of blocks

and a toy train

and an exposed path with fence.

so back on topic, can I put something up I made? not exactly built as in construction though.

As long as bomber put an agy in should be all good.

Just Build whatever and pray no one ever asks for permits. I have a 6x6 under cover area I never bothered with even asking about permits for. It's hidden away in back yard anyways.

Ill see if I can find a po of mine. Looks schmancy.

This has reminded of all the garages and patios I've done for people where there's a pallet of bricks and rubbish buried under there slab and 100mm of sand on top.

Edit ONLY COZ ASKED TOO!!

So on Tuesday I took that LED high bay I posted a pic of a while ago and pulled the guts out.

q4lC5l.jpg

Added a much better LED driver (140W) and a So-Max Wifi control box.

WvvF6l.jpg

Added a little antenna for maximum range.

The light talks to this bad boy. Can power on/off and dim in 10% increments from iphone/android app (app currently in development). Has no startup/shutdown time and emits fark all heat. Not to mention the power saving.

So much interest in these things already.
