It's bolted to the flex plate obviously. It only slips onto the input shaft in the gearbox.

Use a screwdriver or the like to brace the flex plate when you undo it. You can also chuck a breaker bar and a socket onto the harmonic balancer bolt and let it brace on the floor. It's heavy as crap so when you pull the last bolt out make sure you're holding it onto the flex plate or it will just fall off. There converter has a little choad that sits in the crank so it will fall off pretty easily.

Also if the plugs are in you can just put a socket and breaker bar onto it and smack the fark out of it with your palm or a heavy hammer. It should come loose with no bracing at all. You just gotta turn the motor until it's on a compression stroke. That's when it gets harder to turn.

Be careful not to strip the head of the bolt though, it's gotta be lined up dead straight.

You'll get it mate.

Success! Had to use a second spanner as an extension, brace a chisel against a brick I had a foot on, and sit on the engine so it didn't move. Thanks again guys!

Engine picked up and gone. I'm basically down to transmission, cat, steering wheel, wheels and a few panels now so will strip it next weekend ready for metal recycling.

Not bad for two weeks!

that's ridiculously cheap... well done... but they probably aren't genuine as there's heaps of excellent copies around :)

I had fakes (on and older car) and I reckon they looked better than the genuine item on my father's car (at the time). So good stuff, either way :) sexy wheel, imho :icon_ford:
