Hey guys,

So about two months ago I bought a BA XR6 N/A, I'm loving it for a first car but I just want a couple extra KWs.

All I want to know is what would be the most effective way to get a touch extra out of it without spending all my cash ( I don't want to spend over $3500 though I could go to $5000).

I've heard that just a new air filter and a good tune up can give me 10 to 20 extra kilowatts. Is there anything to back this up or is this just someone talking out their arse?

I understand that a new exhaust could add a bit but I hate the noise, I like my car to look and sound good. Are there any exhaust systems out there that wont change the sound to poorly? You know, I don't want a straight six that sounds like an 8 with a hole in the muffler.

So yeah recommend me some good mods that will add a bit without emptying my wallet.

I'm definitely not willing to take it that far, just looking for decent exhaust and extractors as well as some other cheap mods.

Thanks anyway mate.

Pacemaker 4490's and a 200cell cat leave the zorst alone and you will be happy approx $800

Fit an underdrive as well and you will be happier, inc belt $300

Get a Bluepower custom tune and you will jizz all over the steering wheel ! $1200

That ^^^ will give you a mid 14 sec car ...

Brands? Should I bother with a full system or just headers and cat? Ratio of diff gears? KW like to get out of it?

I would do it with my brother because he's a 3rd year apprentice mechanic, but sadly he's in jail.

Any other suggestions

For headers, pacemakers. Or research Genie, I've herd these are cheap but dont know how they flow.

For diff, 4.11s. Or territory 4.10s but there not LSD.

It's not a lot of labour, tuning is the dearest part. Leave the tune till last.

Or wait till your brother gets out, and get him To steal all the parts.

Hey man thanks for the advice! I'm just wondering if this is good for a daily driver? Because you're talking about times when I just want a daily driver with a bit of go.
