hi there,

iv just purchased my self a2005 ba mkii xr6t and just havin a few little issues

1, when im givin it a bit of right foot on boost it will just seem to cut the power, I was thinking some sort of restricter but sometimes it does it at 3500 revs n sometimes it does it at 5000 revs valve springs have only just been done 2 mnths ago....

2, this weird shutter ( iv only noticed it when the car cools down, as in if I drive somewhere then park it up for an hour the go for a drive it will do it again, only for 5-10 seconds) the car will stall if you dnt rev it, it seems like its not running on all cylinders.

3, clunking in the diff, or something in the rear. when changing gears the clunking is very noticeable but iv seen receipts from not too long ago the diff having some warranty work done to it..

any helpfull info would be great

Hi there, I have had a similar problem with Point 1. Question, how much fuel is in the tank? I'm guessing it is at about half or just under? the reason being is that the engine is starving of fuel and it is sending air through the fuel line. You will probably need a surge tank, as the BA's have a really poor design fuel tank.

You posted in my thread about this shudder, so I will keep u posted on my results..

But the part about the clunking diff - I would say it's your tail shaft just like mine ..It's so annoying unless you baby the clutch out! I have just learnt how to drive it so it doesn't do it, but I think it's just another B series floored design. Even the 6 speed autos love the tail shaft slap! My mates auto as just a horrible

If you still have an issue when the tank is over 1/2 full then check the boost, if the car is overbosting it will go into torque reduction, this means reduced throttle and cylinder cut, feels like a shudder sometimes.

take it to your tuner. Not a local mechanic.

There's a wealth of knowledge on here from site sponsors who have invested

significant R&D at their own cost to give you guys a better deal over nearly 10 years.

These guys know their stuff, forget the local garage, forget Fraud.

Save yourself a bomb and do it right. If they don't know no one will.

Get the farker on the dyno. At least see whats what

Hey mate, not sure if this is related to your similar problem. But I got my car bak from tuner today and my load points were messed up after original tune! Has your car had a tune b4?

I may have a similar problem.

My car is a 2004 BA XR6T Falcon Sedan Manual 5spd. I am running 96 octane fuel. I live in regional Queensland which makes finding a specialist a bit more difficult.

Around town, I can boost hard (up to 80kph or so) in 1st and second gear and the car performs flawlessly. If I'm out on the open road and then foot to the floor boost for what seems to be a little over 3 seconds (lets say 3rd gear passing a road train or something) it will suddenly loose all power and the engine will shudder. I naturally button right off immediately but it seems the engine is still shuddering and has no power. If I then pump the accelerator pedal 1/4 of the way down a few times the shudder seems to go away and it's back to normal. This does not appear to be a traction control issue as it does it with the traction control turned off and if t/c is on, the light does not indicate a loss of traction.

I am trying to decide on the best solution for repairs and am interested in anyone's experience or knowledge in this area. Any help is greatly appreciated.
