Hey guys,

I am looking at purchasing a set of 20" wheels for my FG G6E Turbo in the next few days. I have had different wheel companies trying to sell me different profile tyres for the wheels that are going on the car. What do you think is best, 35 profile or 30 profile? I was told that 35 profile might increase the rolling diameter too much therefore rendering it unroadworthy.

If you have any pictures of 20's on an FG with 30 or 35 profile, please post them up so I can get an idea, and hopefully other users that might have this dilemma!

Thanks guys.

FG you can go 245/35/20 on the front... You cant on a B series as it hits on the upper control arm. The rolling diameter change is negligible.

I would go 35 series for comfort and tyre choice.

I am riding on 30 series as I have a B series...

But other guys with FGs are running 35's...

So this would mean on a standard 19" (36 offset)factory rim 245/40/19 would fit on an FG?

Can anyone confirm this as it would save me trying to fit one up as most tyre shops say it will rub on the upright or upper balljoint

There was an fg at my drive day with 245 40 19 on standard rim, if it was going to scrub it would have then but he said it was better. Looked stupid though as it made the rims look like 17's.

I have 245 35 20 on the front and 275 30 20 on the rear.. The ride quality is good I think for a ute lol.. Tyre shop was trying to get the same rolling diameter front and rear.. Think the best match was a 285 for the rear but did not come in the tyre I got.. It can through your spedo out having different rolling diameters as I found out the hard way lol..

I own a BF, so im not sure what the standard tyre sizes on the FG are, but if they are 245/40/18 and 245/35/19 then 245/35/20 would be illegal due to rolling diametre increase of too much - so 245/30/20 is legal. It makes more sense when you look at it like this

245/40/18

245/35/19

245/30/20

But, if the FG has 245/40/19 standard then you'll be right! 35 series will be more comfortable but you gotta stay legal, I've copped 4 defects for wrong tyres just on my typhoon alone!
