G'day fellas,

Does anyone know what those cheap ass intercoolers on ebay are like? installation, what pipework do they fit, or just a plain no? haha

also these new fairly cheap air intake boxes have come up recently, they look pretty decent. Anyone got one?

Intake = Shiite..

It's hard to install in the turbos.. It doesn't actually fit anywhere near as good as that picture. The pod filter that comes with it is crap so you're gonna be out a further 150 for a K&N pod filter.. Which puts you in SS inductions growler territory (dollars wise)..

With the intercoolers there was a thread (or three) on that in the intercooler section.

those cheap ass intercoolers on ebay are exactly that... cheap and nasty. they suffer from heat soak easily, and will just restrict you later on. The entry level coolers from the the likes of rapid, plaz, PW will be the best.

as for the intake...as porno panda said.

I've just been reading through this thread, about 3 months ago I purchased a FG XR6T (prem sound + leather) which had the nizpro stage 3 kit fitted, it was pulling 383rwkw with a stock fuel pump for the past 2 and a bit years. I recently got it retuned at the same place to 407rwkw still running the stock fuel pump. I had the pump tested prior to the retune to make sure it could maintain the fuel flow as the safety of my engine is priority number 1, they were able to increase the fuel demand required by the engine at all revs by an added 20% to make sure it was well within safe limits and it appeared to have no issues with the extra demand. Just thought I would share the results I have found whilst using the stock FG fuel pump. Unfortunately its not a huge money saver by not changing it.

I did just have a brief read through the surge tank section. I should have realised that tests carried out on a dyno cannot take into account the effects of G-forces in regards to the pumps ability to sustain sufficient flow rate. Surge tank is now on the list when it goes in for the strengthened tail shaft and turbo side intake.
