Unless you're completely tone deaf then you should be able to tell the difference between different notes and whether or not they're in tune or not. She started out by singing every note a fifth apart from me no matter where I went. It was hilarious to me at least that she could harmonize without being able to sing a nursery rhyme in tune. It took us just a few minutes to get her to hit the same note as me. Then she cracked the sh*ts and walked away. This is just an unavoidable fact. Everybody has a different auditory system, even if only minutely different; so "experience/perception" of sound is unique and specifically your own, hence it's subjective.
