Is it design? Quality Control? What gives us this difference?

Is it design? Quality Control? What gives us this difference?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I think the difference in power is purely down to factory boost pressures. The ones who make more always seem to have a little bit more boost than the lower powered ones. That would be caused by a variance in whatever controls the boost levels. Then there is mechanical variances between engines. There are always some engines that go that little bit better than others due to slightly different tolerances. Some engines may have slightly bigger bores, cams, bigger and smoother ports etc. They may be only thousands of an inch bigger but combine them all and you may get a few kw's difference between engines. Same goes for % of loss through the driveline.Run procedure also comes into play. Edited 03/04/06 03:06 AM by Venom XR6

If they brought out the cars with a tolerance of 240kw +/- then it wouldnt be the best way to advertise. If they bring it out as a minimum figure then it wouldnt matter what the actual figure is cos the customer will be happy anyway.
