  1. Hey guys Recently my territory turbo has started to do a weird jolt when letting off throttle. Before people start commenting diff bushes hear me out, it seams to be electrical related. It's a territory turbo with a built fg turbo engine in it, only got put in recently and has been nothing but dramas, at first it would have an issue with the ignition coil fuse which seamed to be a wire running to the fuse box in the cabin was grounding somewhere when the engine mounts would twist causing the car to sputter and shutdown, that issue has been rectified but now there's another electrical related issue. Now whats happening is the zf is jolting when you let off, reverse up a driveway, hit a hard enough bump, so on, its not very consistent but from what I can tell it appears to be from the engine mounts twisting or a vibration. when it does the jolt it also shuts off the radio, (it also shuts off boost gauge, volt meter and reverse camera which are wired into the lighter socket). Also shows on the dash what drive mode its in, R when reversing, rdp when in drive, PEF when in sport, displaying it like it does when you put it in those gears, just instead while driving, it also displayed rdp while driving but when I was in PEF, shifted it back to drive and into sport which reverted it back to sport. I haven't checked any fuses or anything electrical yet due to the car still being driveable. I should mention that the fans for the radiator haven't been working causing the engine to run a bit hotter than usual, occasionally it jumps into limp mode when theres heavy traffic but its manageable, the transmission cooler is placed where the old hood scoop was, because the head gets hot and when it gets near the red the transmission occasionally starts to flash on the dash, I'm gonna put it back to where it should be but in thinking it could be something to do with the solenoids in the trans being cooked, unlikely as it's effecting the whole car but yeah should be noted.
  2. So during the install of my powder coated rocker cover, I snapped the clip on the VCT connector plug 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ It was quite brittle, didn't even put any force on it when I was removing it. I've seen this pop up on some FB pages before so I'm guessing its just a Ford thing... I ordered 2 replacement plugs and they arrived today, but I'm wondering if I'll be able to get away with just using the housing and not cut an re-crimp the wires? Does anyone know how to disassemble these plugs? After some short time inspecting the cooked plug, I'm a bit unsure on how it comes apart. There appears to be a lock on the front of the connector (orange thing in the pic below), this part happens to be broken on the plug on my car too but the wires still appear to be pretty firmly in there. I'm used to these kind of plugs having a hook of some kind on the pin that once pushed in cannot come out without a tool to compress the hook. I'm pretty comfortable doing my own wiring and crimping. I have the tools to do this, I just don't want to cut the wires seeing as they're already pretty short.
  3. I have recently bought a 2012 Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo and I have some issues with fault codes. Whenever I start the car I always get the DSC and System Comms faults, non of my cars drivability is effected although it is quite annoying having my dash light up like a bloody christmas tree. The guy I bought it off said they just need to be cleared by Ford so I hope that's just the case. I also sometimes randomly get a Check Engine fault. Sometimes I drive and don't get the issue, sometimes it comes up when I start the car or sometimes 15 minutes into a trip. Previous owner said that is happening due to the DSC and System Comms fault although Im worried it is something more. I also get the RSS fault at times although I think its just dust clogging a sensor most likely. My car always drives the same and sounds the same although are these faults something I need to worry about? My car has been tuned and is running 460rwhp so could that be a reason all these faults have occurred with the car? Also the car had these issues when I bought it so lets hope I haven't bought a lemon, the bloke also reckons I just need to get the codes cleared by Ford, is this true or could there be more lying behind the faults. Sorry for long post, thanks.
  4. Hi all, I really need some assistance please (FYI I am not a mechanical car person at all).  Having some kind of power/electrical/battery/fuse/connection issue with my 08 FG xr6 turbo.  Let me run you through what has happened. Sunday morning I go to start the car and click, click, click with ‘Vehicle immobilised’ on the screen. Yes I know this generally means dead battery and to get a new one.  So I do and still does the same thing. Try a heap of different things throughout Sunday. (Disconnect battery for different periods, lock and unlock car etc etc) but to no avail (randomly gt different codes (vehicle immobilised, comms error, transmission not in park and it’s a manual).  Late Sunday afternoon when trying again accessories come on (as they had previously) but when turning ignition it just dies completely.  Then disconnect for a while, try again and dies completely again. Later I try charging the battery in case the new one was a dud, but it makes no difference. Then I tried charging the battery over Sunday night.  Monday morning before work try again, get accessories (as previously had) and get the ‘transmission not in park’ message.  Try ignition and dies completely again. Then I get home from work and try again and get basically no power at all. No accessories, keys don’t open or lock car, no inside lights when opening the door. Only faint sign of power is the boost gauge vaguely flickering in the on position and the air bag light being on when off. A mate came round and measured the battery and it is putting out the 13 volts so I don’t think it is the battery itself (plus it is new).  At some point sufficient power is not getting to the car. If anyone has any idea your feedback would be great? Really frustrating!
  5. Has anyone had the center LCD panel on a FG 2012 on startup and "System Comms Fault " displayed . All other instruments are OK and car starts and runs normal.
