  1. Means nothing, as the interceptor is a police spec Taurus.
  2. Not likely, they need to be stripped down to fit the lower comp pistons, and the supercharger inlet assembly needs to be fitted plus whatever bits are needed to fit it to the Falcon, and the extra demand should mean no loss of jobs. According to one of the guys on FF that is, and he knows. Adds credence to when Rod Barrett said they would still keep the assembly line here. Its just that now they won't need all the custom parts the 5.4 requires bar pistons, inlet manifold etc.
  3. It supposedly makes 350+, but what number they choose to advertise who knows, probably 335.The GTH supposedly makes 375 if the rumours on the other forums are true.
  4. GT will be around the same price as now, but as with every new model you should expect a small price rise. Apparently the Coyote motor is cheap to make, and bulk purchases of superchargers will keep the unit costs down. Not having to totally assemble the whole motor with specific parts only common to that motor like they do with the current 5.4 will keep costs down.
  5. Eaton superchargers have an idle air bypass, so they don't boost all the time, so at cruising speeds it will most likely be making no boost. Economy should be better than the 5.4. Dual independent VCT, lower weight, more efficient engine and slightly smaller capacity. Mustang V8 also has electric power steering which reduces consumption, Falcon might have it too.
  6. Turbo cams are the same as NA ones. The develop them for the NA petrol version, the other engines are stuck with whatever they choose for that. They might just alter the VCT advance/retard. I couldn't tell you what they changed, but the cam specs are altered for better economy, emmisions etc, and probably altered on FG to suit the new plastic manifold.
  7. Balil Skaf was also a good boy according to his mother, and all the girls he and his friends gang raped were liars.
  8. Better suspension? Try transverse leaf springs all round. That is not a joke.
  9. It will weigh about the same as the 6, and the weight be be located further back as its only 4 cylinders front to back, not 6 like the I6.
  10. The quality of the current FG is the best in its class, even better than Camry and Aurion. The quality ratings don't lie. The TGW rankings are world class and better than the opposition. The dealer response to warranty problems is a whole different matter though, and that's where the problem lies.
  11. They have changed from BA to BF and then changed again for FG.
  12. Not with Coyote, it fits under FG bonnet without bulge, but it will still be used. Its the front of the I6 engine's rocker cover that requires a tall and long bonnet to clear it. Taurus is also available with AWD, as fitted to the EcoBoost models.
  13. Rods are the same, pistons are slightly higher comp in FG, but FG F6 are lower comp than XR.
  14. Word out of the US is Global RWD is alive and well, with Mustang, Falcon and a new Lincoln off the same platform based on FG. Probably engineered here. Massive oppurtunity for FoA. Secures Falcon future well into next decade. Media are full of sh*t, except Expensive Daewoo lover Paul Gover who actually got it right suprisingly. The only one who read between the lines and not just made up bullsh*t to sell papers. Falcon will finally get the development dollars its always deserved, while all development on GM's Zeta platform has been cancelled and Expensive Daewoo are broke. Can't afford a Late model camira facelift and can't afford to put Cruze into production, have to keep delaying it to try to find the money to do it. Don't let the thruth get in the way of a good story.
