Finally some more photos! Also, I took it for a spin to Melbourne and back yesterday so it has now reached 2700 kms on the clock (nearly first check and oil change). It drove like a dream and the fuel economy was way better than expected. I averaged 11.9l/100km and most of the cruising was at around 9l/100km. Cruise control at about 5kph over the limit all the way down but as it was all night driving (got back at 5.30am this morning) on the return trip, I managed to get a couple of bursts of 180 while overtaking trucks. It was so smooth and rock solid, just wish I could really open it up but the Hume Highway isn't really the place for it. I love my car!

Will do some as soon as it stops raining! I was really trying to give a better idea of what the "flecks" of metallic colour look like rather than hide the plates. 162km's on the clock now at avge of 26km/hr and fuel consumption down to 18.2l/100km Not really had a chance to see if it really is a "beast" yet......

The cockpit looks good at night too!

Thanks guys! I am amazed at how different it looks in varied light conditions. In full sunlight it was superb while in shade it was a very subdued dark grey. In the garage it looks black. The drive home from the dealership was one long carpark (avge speed over 42km's was 11km per hour), how I wished for some open road! It was reading 52litres per 100km when I picked it up but it is down to 22lt per 100km now. Hopefully a run early tomorrow along the M2 will bring that down to something reasonable.

OK - first try .... how do these look?

Thanks for those sticking up for me regarding the price but I am quite thick skinned (and fat bellied). I am a Purchasing Manager by profession and understand that on any given day a "bargain" can be found or that you can buy cheaper at certain location. However, I am very happy with the service I receive from my dealer, any warranty issues on my last 3 new fords were all corrected immediately and they did offer me "better" deals on other models but I preferred the XR6T option. Also, when you are talking about spending this amount of money, a few grand here or there really doesn't worry me. In the end, if the car turns out to be as good as I expect, I'll be happy!

Space Ace - "Sideways out of the dealership" sounds interesting but it is years since I last drove anything near as powerful and wouldn't trust myself to handle it properly. BOoya - I can see how your Ute would be a headturner, great looking beast. Your photo of the tailgate gave me a much better idea of what the colour will be like.

Hi Daniel....about 55k (but don't tell my wife!) I'm not sure if I will spend any more later as I like to keep cars stock standard BUT I might be persuaded by forummers!! (OK - truth is I have no idea about "enhancements")
